Moskvitch 412 later called 2140 (called 1500 SL in export version) was a car from Moskvitch introduced in 1967. The 1500 cc was a slant inline-4 inspired by the 1961 BMW 1500 engine. The engine has the interesting fearture that the cylinders barrels can be replaced so you can repair the engine instead of having to replace it entierly. The same engine is still used on the current Sviatagor. Production at the Moskvitch plant ended in 1986, but continued into the 1990s at IZH in Izhevsk.
