That map showing the Location of Cumbernauld is wrong as it is further south than it should be.Banoffee Pies19:13, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Any chance of some photos - would be good to see what it looks like... Justinc 12:02, 15 January 2006 (UTC) trust me you don't... Jamie-planetx 18:05, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It really isn't that bad, it's hardly a horror story. Fraslet 18:07, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

it's a coincidence you should say that im researching cumbernaulds history for ghost storys hexes and such superstition for a concert production, mainly from the romain times and possible curses on cumbernauld any help about such things would be apreciated send me an email Jamie@planetxfilms.co.uk if you have any material. it's true i admire the architachture of cumbernauld i thing the town centre idea was and still is way ahead of it's time, i even admire the residantial areas of pathways not interveining with roads, i think they went wrong with building what is called PHASE 4 (where tesco used to be),Jamie-planetx 23:54, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article has gradually decended into POV and conjecture in favour of the town's planning. There are aspects of the town I like, but this is supposed to be an encyclopedia, not a forum to drum up civic pride for one's town. There are serious criticisms of the town's planning and its fabric: that should be reflected. Could definitely do with a clean-up. FrFintonStack 21:32, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You know I lived in Cumbernauld, I grew up there and I'll always have some nostalgia for the place, it really isnt as bad as people make out that it is. Im kinda dissappointed in the photographs, Cumbernauld is a very very beautiful place in a sunny day, if im ever there again when its sunny i'll take some photography of the town centre, the existing photographs are really bad (no offence intended to the photographer), if you live there and you can take some better pictures you really ought to, people judge towns based on what they read here and the photographs really let the place down!! olorin001 16:34, 28 Dec 2007 (UTC)

Football Teams

Saying that two of the football teams are clyde and cumbernauld united does a little diservice to Clyde. They play in the 1st Division are (almost) entirley professional and have a stadium which has been used for international matches. Cumbernauld utd are a junior team and play in a field. No mention of our golf clubs, surrounding countryside

On the page on Cumbernauld, there is no mention of the various attarctions, the golf clubs, the surrounding countryside is excellent, there is a real sense of gloom and doom with too much talk on the Town Centre, it is crumbling and NEW one's are popping up nearby which are much better.

I do not accept that any area of Cumbernauld is in terminal decline as the article seems to suggest.I libed in Crabrain for years and

do not accept that the place is in terminal decline.

Like any town , there are problems, but the minute the word Scottish New Town arises people cannot wait to rant about the negatives.( although I am almost certain that the authors have not lived in the town very long, if at all)

Please cheer up and hopefully we can all dream of Gregory's Girl 2!

Fair use rationale for Image:ClydefcBadge.jpg

Image:ClydefcBadge.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The image Image:Northlanarkshirelogo.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
