NSU Modern
NSU Modern (created in 1999) was the first competitive Nikkei dance group among Southern California's impressive collection of collegiate dance talent. The dancers are proud to represent the Nikkei Student Union of UCLA, the university's only Japanese American student association. The team is comprised of multi-ethnic Bruin students who all share the same passion for dance, performance, competition, creativity, and community.

Leadership
The current coordinators of NSU Modern are Gregory Gee[1], Amanda Sherman, and Karen Chuang. Dorothy Chen, administrator, handles all of the finances, applications, and tryouts. Also joining the team is Jessica Youn, a former dancer and coordinator, who now takes on the role as an advisor.

- Prelude / Under the Bridge: a dance competition hosted by Team Millennia -- 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009
- VIBE: hosted by the LTD's of the University of California, Irvine[2] -- 2009, 2010[3]
- Fusion: a dance competition hosted by the Multi-Asian Student Association[4] at University of California, San Diego[5] -- 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
- Battle Royalle: UCLA competition with ACA Hip Hop, Samahang Modern & NSU Modern[6] -- 2007, 2008, 2009 (1st Place)[7]
- Ultimate Brawl -- 2007, 2010 (4th Place)
