Clan Moutray
This article is not ready to be in article space. Would you move it back to your user space to work on until it's ready? Mostly it's just way too long, but some other issues are:
- The references quote long passages from other works; in some cases it looks like entire works are quoted. That is not appropriate for a Wikipedia article; a reference entry in a Wikipedia article should direct the reader to material used as references, not quote the reference.
- Much of the material doesn't seem directly related to Clan Moutray. An article about one clan should not recap general Scottish history.
- Wikipedia articles (from any language Wikipedia) cannot be used as references. Links to Wikipedia articles can be included in "See also".
- Noted members or relatives of the clan don't need their entire biographies in this article. Instead, include a list of them (maybe with brief descriptions), and create separate articles for them.

- Use of {{hangon}} isn't correct when and article has been proposed for deletion. Instead you can just remove the {{PROD}} from the article. However to prevent the article being listed for deletion you should expand the article to show why, for example, the society is notable. Please note that Wikipedia is not your personal genealogical website. While you are clearly passionate about the history of your family, it is not the purpose of Wikipedia to serve as the repository of that history. Many of your family appear to be notable, and such articles are appropriate. However, this edit to Seafield Tower contained vast swaths of irrelevant and unreferenced material, including large sections of untranslated Latin text which does no one any good without a translation. yes , i want to appeal the block . 1. i am providing information , of historical record . 2. i am finding my informatino deleted , by speedy deletion , in less than 30 mins , adn sometimes 5 mins . 3. in frustratino i have addressed my discontent with the behavoiur , in particular , wikidan , radiofan , and tan , who have now , attempted to block me , which i believe is an abuse of their position . this woudl not be permitted in real life situation , where they are pushing users who are attempting to contribute , simply when i am on a learning curve . yes i know this is not a personal genealogical website, however, when there is information of historical fact, adn i am in a postion to know this , as it is something i have researched, then i am adding it , to find that it is blocked under miniscule frivolous reasons, without proper explanation . when i complain and object to it , then i am finding myself blocked , eg what is the reason that Tan has blocked me . i believe there should be a penalty on those who are using blocks inappropriately , all i can do is appeal to logic . if there is a historical fact, that is included in encyclopedias, in national archives, in scotland and washington , there are places , whos history corroborates the infomation , then i dont dont see why i am having my entries deleted , regardless of whether they are family members or not , if presidents and kings have honoured them as notable , and noteworthy , eg the peerage , debretts , then who are these petty 'editors' to say that i cant add these facts? even when i link to other books , eg raineval , other families have provided links to their family , but then when i do it , then its put up for speedy deletion , give me some explanation , otherwise i am going to collect all this information and complain directly to wikipedia . i think it is either , incompetence or negligence in the way i have been treated. i dont see why anyone woudl waste their time , to contrinute work , charitably, to be treated in this manner , i have recieved complaints from other people who have got frustrated at deletionists and pettiness , that they havent bothered to continue to contribute . time for some common sense . i look forward to recieving satisfactory response . this is harrassment , and im not happy to have information misrepresented , as i dont like the slant of the incorrect informaiotn you have redistributed . yours sincerely paul

I am declining this because it does not seem to address the two main problems, as far as I can see. The number one problem from my perspective (which may be slightly different from the blocking administrator's perspective) is your cavalier attitude towards copyright. Wikipedia has a strict policy against copyright violations (please read WP:COPYVIO) and you have been repeatedly cutting and pasting text from other sources into Wikipedia. The other issue I see is that you are creating articles which do not fit the style or purpose of Wikipedia articles. Wikipedia has an expected standard for the subject matter, organization, and style of article, both in terms of what sorts of material is appropriate to build an article about, and how to write those articles. Please read WP:NOT for the sort of material that is generally inappropriate for Wikipedia. A lot of the information you are trying to add to Wikipedia may possibly be appropriate in some manner, but you seem to be going about things all wrong, to the point of disruption. Please take some time to learn how to add information to Wikipedia, what sorts of things make proper articles, and how to work within the long-established conventions here. Since this unblock request does not seem to indicate that a) you understand why you are currently blocked, and most importantly b) how you intend to change your behavior to avoid being blocked again, I am going to decline it for now. I'm not sure where there is a "bias". You're not posting on some contentious issue, you're just posting nonsense about your family tree or something. I'm not sure if you have read other articles on Wikipedia, but none of them look like yours. There is a certain style in which the information is presented, and certain standards a followed to determine if an article is worthy of inclusion in the first place. By stating that you will "just keep reposting", you are obviously trying to ignore all the standards and do as you please, making WP your personal place for posting disorganized nonsense. This leads to nothing but disruption for other editors, who have the unenvious task of performing rollbacks of clearly non-encyclopedic edits.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'bias' in this situation; you appear to have misunderstood what Wikipedia is, and tried to use it as a place to publish more of your genealogical research than is useful or appropriate in an encyclopedia article. When people tried to help and correct you, you didn't seem willing to learn to use Wikipedia in a way that's appropriate, and so a block was necessary. The unblock request doesn't indicate that you understand why you were blocked, and indicates that, if unblocked, you'd continue to make edits which are disruptive to the encyclopedia, so an unblock isn't possible right now.
You might find it helpful to read some of the rules that other users have linked for you: the notability criteria, the guidelines to reliable sources, and what Wikipedia is not. If you have other misunderstandings, there are useful links in your welcome message which might also be wise to read.

These are Facts . They are Historical Facts,hence under the History section. They are not my opinions,but from Public Domain sources. That is your opinion,but articles should just present verifiable facts . You don't own these articles , so if you have any further facts to add ,feel free. I personally am interested in the History of Ireland and Scotland prior to 1970. The Irish and Scottish like History and have long memories,hence the many local Historical Societies. I'd rather that local people edited the article if they prefer ,but if you start removing every post I make ,then I'll have to make a complaint ,as there is a pattern of behaviour from you and one or two others,of interfering with my submissions. I'm pleased to see other decent editors have improved the articles on Seafield Tower,Moultrie Courthouse and Sir John Moutray. It's probably better if you find someone else to scrutinise as I feel you are looking for trouble and your behaviour could be deemed as harrassment . - Hi. The disagreement is not about whether the information is factually correct, it is on whether it is appropriate to be copied verbatim into a Wikipedia article. Old documents can certainly be used as sources for your own writing, and some quotes can be taken from them, but Wikipedia is not a repository of old documents and they should not simply be copied verbatim into articles. Doing that will produce a whole mish-mash of styles that will make the encyclopedia very hard to read. - i have read the blocking policy, and A. i have requested to be unblocked. B. i have stated that the Block was WRong . The reason the Block is Wrong , is that teh reason for the Block , was given as G12, Copyright Violation , however , as i have explained , its Public Domain , adn is not copyright Violation , as i stated clearly on the Page at the time , so this was disregarded . - The Wikipedia Manual of Style, at WP:MOS, describes the style in which Wikipedia articles are to be written, and they are not to be written in an 1837 style with 1837 facts stated as if they are current - I think that pretty much rules out using a verbatim copy of an old source as direct Wikipedia article content. It can definitely be used as a source, and parts of it could certainly be quoted (eg something like 'Samuel Lewis described it as "blah blah blah"<ref>...</ref>'), but I don't think Lewis's original words are appropriate for making up the article text itself. If that was allowed, we'd soon end up with the entirety of "A topographical dictionary of Ireland, by Samuel Lewis" copied verbatim into Wikipedia, which I really don't think we want -- Boing! said Zebedee 13:37, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Thats a reasonable plan . we can wait and see what the consenus is . i thought i was adding additional information as context from Lewis's Topographical Dictionary . I just didnt see how removing it all , made that particular entry on Augher more useful , by having it removed . Perhaps not all of it is relevant , but it is a small little village and wait with interest to see what differences , if any , there have been since 1837 , as its something little villages in ireland seem to take pride in , is that that they havent changed that much , and as such , much of what was there on the Survey in 1837 , is probably still there for posterity . Perhaps if it was formated better , re-phrased better , but that would be a more acceptable and reasonable outcome in my opinion than simply scrubbing it , after i had submitted it . I await with interest further comments from Independant third parties . regards

- I'm not overly please with the service I have received from you as an editor either, but because I believe that everyone has something to add to Wikipedia, I'm doing my best to help, because I WP:AGF. You wight want to re-read the messages that are in the Welcome message at the top of this page, and perhaps WP:Wikilawyering too ... this giant wall of text, the bashing of people whose role is to protect Wikipedia, and accusing people of not being neutral 3rd parties is not a good way to start and end your Wikipedia career. A common mistake of misguided advocacy is when a person assigns themselves a mediator and proceeds with judging the sides by telling them whether they are right or wrong instead of helping the sides to better state their positions and to find common grounds. It is not uncommon that one side is wrong indeed, and in such a case a mediator starts looking as if taking sides thus alienating the wrong side and triggering their defense instincts, further entrenching them away from the amicable resolution.
- maybe you could lead by example, and watch how you communicate . if you are dismissive and patronising, then anyone with any self respect is hardly going to consider your comments in a constructive light . Anyway , I'm over this . I am assuming you are well intentioned , assume good faith , and just have to assume that you are attempting to be helpful in a clumsy way that comes across as rude and hostile . - I had requested the Block to be reviewed by an independant thrid party, but the same administrator , who failed to explain the reasons for the block as pertaining to teh facts , has just gamed the system again , to block . There is no point trying to reasonably argue reasonable points, with someone who is unreasonable , such Bwilkins . Whats the point in wasting time in a rigged system with Administrators such as Bwilkins . - It was never satisfactorily explained what exactly the problem was , ie blocked due to "copyright" when he admits its Public Domain (???) , anyway... Whatever....

It does not mean "come down hard on someone as soon as they make a mistake". Wikipedia most certainly has a learning curve. We should cut editors (particularly newbies) some slack, and help them understand how to edit competently. Mistakes are an inevitable part of the wiki process. It does not mean perfection is required. Articles can be improved in small steps, rather than being made perfect in one fell swoop. Small improvements are our bread and butter. It does not mean we should not try to help people improve. It is also not free license to ask for someone's credentials so as to label them incompetent. Finally, it does not mean we will give any good faith editor an infinite number of opportunities to make themselves useful. If, after an appropriate amount of time and coaching, someone still isn't competent, don't make a heroic effort to defend them. Cut them loose, and turn your mentoring efforts to a better candidate

The copyright infringements for which I blocked you are not the very old encyclopedia article you are trying to add to Augher. Rather, it is the contents of Augher Castle and Augher castle, which you created, which were both copied from this web site, which is not so old as to be out of copyright. Augher Castle, County Tyrone
The castle dismantled by order of parliament, and continued in a state of dilapidation and neglect till 1832, when it was restored and a large and handsome mansion built adjoining it by Sir J. M. Richardson Bunbury, Bart. The ancient building consisted of a pentagonal tower surrounded by a wall 12 feet high and flanked by four circular towers; the wall has been removed, but one of the round towers has been restored; and the entrance gateway has also been removed and rebuilt on an elevated situation commanding some fine views, in which the remains of the old castle form an interesting object: the mansion is situated in a well-wooded demesne of 220 acres, and upon the margin of a beautiful lake.

- Moutray, one of things that I highly recommend for you is that you put in a request to be adopted by a knowledgeable editor for awhile. A quick scan of the concerns throughout your talkpage include:
- notability concerns
- not signing posts
- ownership activities
- copyright violations on a number of articles
- using original research
- creating live articles that do not meet minimum requirements for inclusion
- personal attacks
- you clearly advised that you would edit war over your desired additions to William Moutrie
- misunderstandings over WP:CONSENSUS
- conflict of interest
- That's a mighty long list. The real problem however is your responses when people do try to help. It's not biting to suggest that improve in an area. A person is not "not neutral" if they act based on policy. All of Wikipedia is not out to get you. It's possible that through adoption, you may be able to work through these issues and become a positive editor. You do have to change your interaction style first.
- At this point, you do not have an active unblock request. Personally, I would recommend that you take the next few days remaining to read all of the policies that were given in your Welcome message. Then, have a look at all of the ones I have listed above. How to avoid being a "biter"
Newcomers' ears can be particularly sensitive. Newcomers' ideas of how things should be handled within Wikipedia will largely be out of context. It's a jungle out there and it may take some time before a newcomer becomes accustomed to how things work here. Keeping that in mind may help you avoid becoming a "biter." To avoid being accused of biting, try to: Avoid intensifiers in commentary (exclamation points and words like terrible, dumb, stupid, bad, good,). Moderate your approach and wording. Avoid sarcasm in edit summaries and on talk pages, especially when reverting. Strive to respond in a measured manner. Be gracious. Acknowledge differing principles and be willing to reach a consensus. Take responsibility for resolving conflicts. Reciprocate where necessary. Listen actively. Avoid Wikipedia jargon. When linking to policies or guidelines, do so in whole phrases, not wiki shorthand. Avoid using blocks as a first resort. Consider talking to a user before you block them. Standard welcome/warning messages are both cordial and correcting. Consider using these templates for welcoming, or the first two here for warning. Strive to be a responsible Wikipedian. By fostering goodwill, you will neither provoke nor be provoked easily, and will allow new Wikipedians to devote their time and resources towards building a truly collaborative encyclopedia. If you have bitten someone, or feel that you have been bitten, considering the following points could help ensure that it doesn't happen again. Choose to learn from the incident. Accusation
Shortcut: WP:ACCUSE "You have broken this rule by saying/doing that." "That is a violation of [this] policy. "If you add that to/remove this from this article, it is vandalism." "You are trying to assert ownership of this article." "This must be a sock puppet account." Yes, there may be actual behaviorial policies and guidelines around. They can be interpreted however one may wish, and can be twisted to fit the beliefs of the one spouting their side of the argument. This is commonly known as Wikilawyering, is not congruous with the guidelines cited in gaming the system. The act of throwing around such accusations is a lack of assumption of good faith. There is a more civil way of dealing with disputes if you are really concerned about a violation taking place. These concerns may be brought up on various boards, such as Dispute resolution. There are warning templates that can be placed on a user's talk page, but they should be used sparingly, and only when it appears that the user is unfamiliar with such a guideline, or is intentionally breaking it, despite all warning.
WikiBullying is the act of using the Wikipedia system and the power of editing to threaten or intimidate other editors. Doing so violates the civility principles of Wikipedia and is not tolerated. There are essentially two forms of bullying on Wikipedia: attacks against the individual editor by targeting a single user, or giving the perception of power aimed at the entire Wikipedia community at large. On Wikipedia, all editors have fair and equal rights to editing of all articles, project pages, and all other parts of the system. While some may have more knowledge or familiarity with a topic than others, this does not mean those with less are at a lower level and are not entitled to their point of view.

The editing atmosphere can be improved if you treat your fellow editors as respected colleagues who are working, in collaboration with you, on an important project. Pursue disputes in a civil manner, attempting to find an acceptable resolution quickly, with minimal disruption.

These suggestions may help you maintain civility in the face of difficulties. Use common sense and personal preferences to choose an appropriate option, or create a solution that better suits the specific situation you find yourself in.
Balance criticisms by providing constructive comments.
If possible forget about offensive comments without replying, and forgive the editor. Do not escalate the conflict.
Alternatively, respond to perceived incivility with greater civility and respect. Many editors will then moderate their tone to match yours.
Please. Thank you. I'm sorry. You're welcome. You're a good person and I know we'll work this out. Treat your fellow editor as a respected and admired colleague, who is working in collaboration with you on an important project.
Walk away. Wikipedia is a very big place. Just go edit somewhere else for a while and return when tempers have cooled.
You do not have to like an editor as a person to appreciate that they are also working for the good of the project. If you do not like a fellow editor, try not to hold that fact against them.
[edit]Why incivility is inappropriate
Incivility creates a hot, unfriendly space, and a sense of threat. With civility, respect and a sense of safety and collegiality between all concerned is created, producing ample room for negotiation. Incivility may put editors on the defensive, may create closed-mindedness to multiple, alternative ideas, and can help to prevent a consensus from forming. A more serious consequence of incivility may be that an editor becomes so unhappy that he or she leaves Wikipedia. Wikipedia is at heart an online community. To maintain the effectiveness of the community, all members must be civil to one another and remember why they have joined the community in the first place. Editors should strive to create an environment that supports other editors and that does not encourage or support breaches of incivility. All contributors are expected to assume good faith towards each other (within reason), in order to try to uphold a reasonably civil atmosphere. Editors can apply peer pressure by voicing displeasure each time rudeness or incivility occurs; however, some care is required: If the comment is read as an insult, or seems to belittle another editor; the situation could be inflamed further. Peer pressure works best when it comes from friends or people the editor already trusts or respects.
Incivility can occur, for example, when you are creating a new page, and another user tells you, "If you're going to write a pointless page, could you spell-check it?" And escalation occurs when you reply, "Get lost!" This style of interaction between Wikipedians drives away contributors, distracts others from more important matters, and weakens the entire community. Incivility can occur during an edit war, when editors have differing opinions, or when there is a conflict based on power. As the community grows larger, editors may not know all other editors, and may not perceive the importance of each individual to the project. In a larger community editors may be more able to hide less than positive reputations than is possible in a smaller community. Sometimes, a particularly impolite user joins the project. This can also aggravate other editors, and impair the collaborative environment. Editors may find themselves becoming upset in such an environment, and may themselves engage in less than civil behaviour. Editors may use insults in the heat of the moment during a longer conflict. The person who made the insult may regret having used such words afterwards. In other cases, insults may be deliberate and could be used to either distract other editors from the issue, or to simply drive them away from working on the article or even from the Wikipedia project itself. Editors may be under pressure from external variables, and for example a lack of sleep may contribute to a loss of good judgment that can lead to speaking in socially unacceptable ways. Take a break from the issue if you sense your judgment may be lowered by any external variables. [edit]Preventing incivility within Wikipedia Use positive feedback (praising those who do not respond to incivility with incivility) Apply peer pressure (voicing displeasure each time rudeness or incivility happens) Use negative feedback (suggesting that an editor involved in conflict should leave a conflict or even temporarily avoid all controversial areas in Wikipedia). It may be worthwhile making such suggestions to both sides of the conflict. Have certain users refrain from editing specific pages that often trigger incivility.
Principles of Wikipedia etiquette
Assume good faith. Comply with etiquette ethics. Wikipedia has worked remarkably well so far based on a policy of nearly complete freedom to edit. People come here to collaborate and write good articles. Remember the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would have them treat you—even if they are new. We were all new once. Be polite, please. Keep in mind that raw text may be ambiguous and often seems ruder than the same words coming from a person standing in front of you. Irony is not always obvious when written—text comes without facial expressions, vocal inflection, or body language. Be careful in choosing the words you write: what you mean might not be what others understand. Be careful of how you interpret what you read: what you understand might not be what the writer means. Sign and date your posts to talk pages (not articles!), unless you have some excellent reasons not to do so. Work towards agreement. Argue facts, not personalities. Do not ignore questions. If another disagrees with your edit, provide good reasons why you think that it is appropriate. Concede a point when you have no response to it, or admit when you disagree based on intuition or taste. Be civil. Although it is understandably difficult in an intense argument, if other editors are not as civil as you would like them to be, be more civil than they are, not less. That way at least you are not moving towards open conflict and name-calling; by your own action you are actively doing something about it: take a hit and refrain from hitting back—everybody appreciates that (or at least they should). However, do not hesitate to let the other person know that you are not comfortable with their tone in a neutral way—otherwise they might think that you are too dense to understand their "subtlety", and you will involuntarily encourage them (e.g., "I know that you have been sarcastic above, but I do not think that is helping us resolve the issue. However, I do not think that your argument stands because ..."). Be prepared to apologize. In animated discussions, we often say things we later wish we had not. Say so. Forgive and forget. Recognize your own biases, and keep them in check. Give praise when due. Everybody likes to feel appreciated, especially in an environment that often requires compromise. Drop a friendly note on users' talk pages. Remove or summarize resolved disputes that you initiated. Help mediate disagreements between others. If you are arguing, take a break. If you are mediating, recommend a break. Take it slowly. If you are angry, spend time away from Wikipedia instead of posting or editing. Come back in a day or a week. You may find that someone else made the desired change or comment for you. If you think mediation is needed, enlist someone. Walk away or find another Wikipedia article to distract yourself—there are 3,287,031 articles in English on Wikipedia! Take up a Wikiproject, lend your much-needed services at Cleanup, or write a new article. Nominate yourself for a list of other articles to work on, provided by SuggestBot. Remember what Wikipedia is not. Review the list of faux pas. Avoid reverts whenever possible, and stay within the three-revert rule except in cases of clear vandalism. Explain reversions in the edit summary box. Amend, edit, discuss. Remind yourself that these are people with whom you are dealing. They have feelings, and probably have other people in the world who love them. Try to treat others with dignity. The world is a big place, with different cultures and conventions. Do not use jargon that others might not understand. Use acronyms carefully and clarify if there is the possibility of any doubt. When reverting other people's edits, give a rationale for the revert (on the article's talk page, if necessary), and be prepared to enter into an extended discussion over the edits in question. Calmly explaining your thinking to others can often result in their agreeing with you; being dogmatic or uncommunicative evokes the same behavior in others, and gets you embroiled in an edit war. [edit]Avoid indirect criticism Shortcut: WP:INDCRIT Avoid use of unexplained scare quotes and other means of implying criticism or making indirect criticism when you are writing in edit comments and talk pages. Out of respect for other editors, criticism of another's edit, of phrasing and choice of terminology, or any criticism of or critical response to talk page commentary and participation ought to be made clearly, directly, and explicitly in a manner that may be easily understood and replied to. Hence insinuation, double entendre, and excessive or unwarranted subtlety of writing should be avoided when expressing criticism—particularly negative criticism. This point of etiquette also helps the editor receiving criticism to correctly understand you and respond to your concerns, and may particularly aid editors for whom English is a second language or who experience difficulty understanding written English. When this style of communication is necessary in the interest of being concise or illustrative it is best to explain the intended meaning of your use of scare quotes or other indirection immediately afterward. Of course criticism communicated in any manner and concerning any subject must be civil, should assume good faith as described in the relevant guideline, should not constitute biting of newcomers, and should comply with other Wikipedia policies and guidelines. If directed generally towards an editor's behavior or other aspects of talk page commentary, criticism must not constitute a personal attack as described in the WP:NPA policy. How to avoid abuse of talk pages
Most people take pride in their work and in their point of view. Egos can easily get hurt in editing, but talk pages are not a place for striking back. They are a good place to comfort or undo damage to egos, but most of all they are for forging agreements that are best for the articles to which they are attached. If someone disagrees with you, try to understand why, and in your discussion on the talk pages take the time to provide good reasons why you think that your way is better. Like science, the improvement process employed by Wikipedia is iterative and the critical analysis of prior work is a necessary part of that process. If you are not prepared to have your work thoroughly scrutinized, analyzed, and criticized, or if your ego is easily damaged, then Wikipedia is probably not the place for you. Do not label or personally attack people or their edits. Terms like "racist", "sexist", or even "poorly written" make people defensive. This makes it hard to discuss articles productively. If you must criticize, do it politely and constructively. Always make clear what point you are addressing, especially in replies. In responding, quoting a post is acceptable, but paraphrasing it or stating how you interpreted it is often better. Qualify your interpretation by writing, "As you seem to be saying" or "as I understand you" to acknowledge that you made an interpretation. Before going on to say that someone is wrong, concede you might have misinterpreted him or her. Interweaving rebuttals into the middle of another person's comments disrupts the flow of the discussion and breaks the attribution of comments. It may be intelligible to some, but it is virtually impossible for the rest of the community to follow. Editing another editor's signed talk page comments is generally frowned upon, even if the edit merely corrects spelling or grammar.
Harassment and disruption

To use the older term "Wikistalking" for this action is discouraged because it can confuse minor online annoyance with a real world crime. Many users track other users' edits, although usually for collegial or administrative purposes. Proper use of an editor's history includes (but is not limited to) fixing errors or violations of Wikipedia policy or correcting related problems on multiple articles. In fact, such practices are recommended both for Recent changes patrol and WikiProject Spam. The contribution logs can be used in the dispute resolution process to gather evidence to be presented in requests for comment, mediation, WP:ANI, and arbitration cases. The important component of wiki-hounding is disruption to another user's own enjoyment of editing, or to the project generally, for no overriding reason. If "following another user around" is accompanied by tendentiousness, personal attacks, or other disruptive behavior, it may become a very serious matter and could result in blocks and other editing restrictions.
User space harassment Shortcut: WP:HUSH See also: Wikipedia:Don't restore removed comments Placing numerous false or questionable "warnings" on a user's talk page, restoring such comments after a user has removed them, placing "suspected sockpuppet" and similar tags on the user page of active contributors, and otherwise trying to display material the user may find annoying or embarrassing in their user space is a common form of harassment. User pages are provided so that editors can provide some general information about themselves and user talk pages are to facilitate communication. Neither is intended as a 'wall of shame' and should not be used to display supposed problems with the user unless the account has been blocked as a result of those issues. Any sort of content which truly needs to be displayed, or removed, should be immediately brought to the attention of admins rather than edit warring to enforce your views on the content of someone else's user space.
Identifying incivility
It is sometimes difficult to make a hard-and-fast judgement of what is uncivil and what is not. Such a judgement may need to take into account such matters as (i) the intensity of the language/behavior; (ii) whether the behavior has occurred on a single occasion, or is occasional or regular; (iii) whether a request has already been made to stop the behavior, and whether that request is recent; (iv) whether the behavior has been provoked; and (v) the extent to which the behavior of others need to be treated at the same time. The following behaviors can all contribute to an uncivil environment: 1. Direct rudeness (a) Rudeness, insults, name-calling, gross profanity or indecent suggestions; (b) personal attacks, including racial, ethnic, sexual and religious slurs, and derogatory references to groups such as social classes or nationalities; (c) ill-considered accusations of impropriety; (d) belittling a fellow editor, including the use of judgmental edit summaries or talk-page posts (e.g. "snipped rambling crap", "that is the stupidest thing I have ever seen"); 2. Other uncivil behaviors (a) Taunting or baiting: deliberately pushing others to the point of breaching civility even if not seeming to commit such a breach themselves; (b) harassment, including Wikihounding, personal or legal threats, posting of personal information, repeated email or user space postings; (c) lying to mislead, including deliberately asserting false information; (d) quoting another editor out of context to give the impression they hold views they do not hold, or to malign them. In addition, lack of care when applying other policies can lead to conflict and stress. For instance, referring to a user's good-faith edits as vandalism may lead to their feeling unfairly attacked. Use your best judgement, and be ready to apologize if you turn out to be wrong.

- Yes, that's an excellent example of the problem- you've just copied and pasted an enormous chunk of text from elsewhere for no good reason. Maybe it isn't copyrighted text, but it is still not at all helpful. When you do use your own words, they are so poorly written that it's hard to even understand you, and when anyone tries to correct them, you get angry. Courtesy is important, and you've met a lot of very courteous people. But if you were about to undergo surgery, and you saw that one of the surgeons was a seven-year-old with dirty hands, would you consider it rude to say, "Stop- that's not the right way to do it, and even if you mean well, you can't do it that way on me.
