Plot summary
Main Characters
Will Tuppence - the narrator of the story. Will is always thinking ahead to the future and has a 12 Step Master plan that starts at "Birth" and ends at "Heaven." He is a chess master and a science "geek," especially in astronomy. He often attends Star Parties, special viewings of the sky, planets, star clusters, constellations, etc., with Mi-Su.
Mi-Su Kelly - Will's female best friends. She goes to Star Parties with him and gives loans to BT when he runs out of money in Monopoly. She is sensible and shares her love of science and astronomy with Will. Mi-Su was also involved in her school's versions of The Music Man.
Anthony "BT" Bontempo - Will's male best friend. BT is very opposite to Will; he doesn't care about being on time or being neat and clean. His "strategy" for playing Monopoly is to buy everything he lands on until he's broke and then get a loan from Mi-Su. His catch=phrase is "Wheelin' and dealin'." He also likes skateboarding and is more daring and adventurous than Will is.
Tabitha "Tabby" Tuppence - Will's younger sister who is 5 years old. She likes to antagonize him by dropping black jelly beans in the wastebasket because the black ones are the only ones Will eats. She also goes into Will's room a lot and turn his chess trophy around to bother him. Tabby ignores Korbert, but befriends him at the end of the book.
Supporting Characters
Korbert Finn - the Tuppences' next-door neighbor who is five years old. He is in love with Tabby and sends her love notes about every week.
