The Phantom®Lapboard is a combination wireless keyboard, laser mouse and hard surface that makes it easy for you to interface with a media center, work or play games from your couch, easy chair or any comfortable setting in your home or workplace. The lapboard includes wireless technology, ergonomic design, one-touch features, and a wireless laser mouse.
Its innovative design features a keyboard that rotates 360-degrees to accommodate left or right-handed users and inclines on a 22-degree angle with a hard surface below for the phantom laser mouse. The lapboard's interchangeable key-face technology is designed for game-specific and business software applications for pc or apple mac platforms. the lapboard also works with the PS3.

Originally designed as a component of the The Phantom, it is currently being marketed as an individual purchase for use with PC video games while the console has been canceled. [1]

May 22nd ,2010 - Currently the Phantom Lapboard is available for sale on our new website ( http://www.phantom.net ) for 129.99 + 7% tax + shipping.
On August 15, 2006, it was announced that the price for the Lapboard would be $129.99 and customers who preorder get $30 off immediately. [1] The first large production order of the Phantom Lapboard was shipped from China on June 15th, 2009 and is scheduled to arrive in the USA on July 9th, 2009. The Phantom Lapboard will go on sale on the Phantom Entertainment and the MainGear Computer websites in July 2009 for $129.99 in color black or white.
Features
The keyboard includes a mouse, and is designed to be held on the player's lap instead of a desk or table. A platform underneath the raised keyboard serves as a mousepad. It can be rotated for use by both left- and right-handed people.
It has a proposed wireless range of 30 feet.[2]

On January 3, 2006, Infinium Labs announced that the Phantom Lapboard is due to be released onto online retailers by the second quarter of 2006.[2] On April 19, 2006, Infinium Labs announced that the keyboard would not be released in time for Q2 2006, but that the device, manufactured by Itron Technology, would be released in North America and Europe "no later than October" of 2006.[3] The release date for the "Lapboard" was then delayed until November 2006.[1] The company began accepting pre-orders for its Lapboard on its website on August 2006, and then announced on November 9th 2006 that the Lapboard had been delayed until January 2007 for those who had made pre-orders and March 2007 for general release.[4][5]
In April 2008, MaximumPC (a PC gaming website) published a hands-on with the lapboard, describing it as "extremely promising" although the supplied mouse "experienced signal dropouts at a distance of about 24 inches from the sensor". They were able to use their own wireless mice with more success. The preview states that the peripheral will be available in "June for $130 in limited quantities".[2]
On June 23, 2008, the Phantom Lapboard became available for sale on the company's official website.
On June 18th, 2009, The Phantom Lapboard became available as part of a MainGear Computers bundle, with MainGear being the first company to offer the Lapboard as part of a bundle.
