Article name

Why is the article named John Thompson House, Highland, NY when the house is called "the Anchorage" ?? TeapotgeorgeTalk 12:06, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

John Thompson House, Highland, NYThe John Thompson House (The Anchorage) — More accurate. Retain John Thompson because he is why the house has historical value. Most people will not know that the name of the house is The Anchorage. Jenifergamber (talk) 15:46, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Articles subject

If the house is called "The Anchorage" why is the article called John Thompson House? and if it is an article about the house why is this paragraph included about a random member of the house builders family?

"Fredrick F. Thompson, a Vassar College trustee, gave the college the funds to build its main library, The Thompson Library. The library was endowed in 1905 by his wife, Mary Clark Thompson as a memorial for her husband."

Are there any references that can be checked on line?

If the building is only in the "style" of Andrew Jackson Downing then all the stuff about Downing can also go. TeapotgeorgeTalk 16:17, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Section deleted as per your suggestion. With the link to Downing elsewhere people can find out the importance of his work. Thank you. Jenifergamber (talk) 20:13, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No references

I can find no references at all on Google to this house except this article? Unless some can be found I will list for deletion. TeapotgeorgeTalk 16:23, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please see references added from historical documents in the Town of Lloyd, Kingston, and Ulster County. These are local publications that will likely not be found on Google for some time. Do not list for deletion.Jenifergamber (talk) 20:12, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
