Hallelujah

Hallelujah is a term used in the Bible to praise God. Traditionally, it is held to be the root of the Hebrew expression Hallelu-Yah literally translates as "Praise Jah, you people!" or simply "Praise Jah!" Jah is the shortened form of the name Yahweh.

The term is used about 24 times in the Old Testament (mainly in the book of Psalms, where it starts and concludes a number of Psalms) and four times in greek transliteration in Revelation.
