Route description

NC 83 begins and ends at NC 130 and US 501. However, by 1947 the road was extended to our current northern terminus of NC 130. Crossing over the historic terminus, the road goes about three more miles to the North Carolina-South Carolina border. This is about 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Clio, South Carolina.
