Typical low quality wikipedia article. Look at the bit on airports:

"There are several minor airports in the Chicago area with either limited or proposed commercial service. These include: ... Chicago Rockford International Airport in Rockford ... Meigs Field...."

Rockford is not in the Chicago area. Having the appellation "Chicago" does not change that. Meigs is no longer an airport, nor is it the only one which has closed.

Its inclusion in the list is mystifying since nowhere else in the article are former transportation assets listed.
