Monsters Resurrected is an American documentary television series that premiered on December 6, 2009 on the Discovery Channel. The program reconstructs extinct animals.

Episodes 5 and 6 were expected to air in late January or February 2010, but they were put on hold. It led to speculation whether the series had been canceled. However, Episodes 5 and 6 aired in late May/June 2010. There are no plans for a second season.[original research?]

Episode One, Biggest Killer Dino

Spinosaurus was depicted as the apex predator at the time, easily killing Rugops, Carcharodontosaurus and Sarcosuchus. It fought with a Carcharodontosaurus and emerged victorious.[2] Later on, the Spinosaurus was shown being attacked by a Sarcosuchus. It quickly paralyzed the crocodile with a bite to the neck before slashing apart the dead croc.

The first Episode aired on the 6th December 2009 featured:

Spinosaurus: The center of the episode and apex predator of its time.

Sarcosuchus: Is seen in the water, hunting in coastal waters and is killed by Spinosaurus during a fight.

Carcharodontosaurus: Seen as the main rival to Spinosaurus. It kills a Paralititan before fighting with (and being killed by) the Spinosaurus.

Rugops: A commonly seen Dinosaur in the episode, it is shown as a scavenger and part time hunter of small sauropods. It is depicted to be picked up in the jaws of Spinosaurus.

Paralititan: A very commonly shown Dinosaur, it is shown traveling in herds and is the main prey of Spinosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus.

Episode Two, The Terror Birds

The terror bird Titanis was depicted as a mortal predator that competed with Sabre-tooth cats and wolves. It is shown chasing a horse and then killing it with its beak. Then it is shown killing a ground sloth. Then is shown scaring off a Smilodon gracilis from its prey. But when the bird begins to eat a pack of Edwards wolves faces the terror bird and despite the bird kills at least three wolves, the pack overpowers the bird and kill it and then eat it.

Titanis: The main animal of the episode. It is depicted as fast and almost vicious killer that kill its prey with its beak by attacking the neck and the skull. And it can swallow a rodent from the size of a dog in a single gulp.

Smilodon: It is shown as a rival from the terror bird. In the show it appears killing a ground sloth, but then is scared from its prey by the bird.

Canis edwardii: It is portrayed as another rival of the terror bird. In the show, a pack of these canines attempts to drive off a Titanis from its kill, but the bird defends itself and kills at least 3 members of the pack. However, the canines are too numerous and they kill the Terror bird.

Horse (posibly Hippidion): It is shown as the main prey for terror birds and its rivals. It is chased by Titanis and then killed with a peck to its skull.

Ground sloth: It is depicted as a main prey for both terror birds and sabre-tooth cats. It is easily killed by both predators.

Episode Three, T-rex of The Deep

In this episode the mosasaurs are depicted as the main predators of the cretaceous seas, competing with the giant sharks and plesiosaurs and over power them. Its also shown competing and killing other mosasaurs.

Tylosaurus: It is shown as the main predator on the Cretaceous seas. It is shown in its evolution from land animals to giant predators. In the show it competes with giant sharks, eventually driving them to extinction. It is also shown fighting with and defeating the plesiosaurs.

Cretoxyrhina: It is referred to as the "Ginsu" shark and it was the main rival of the mosasaurs until the mosasaurs grew too big and began to prey on the Cretoxyrhina.

Dolichorhynchops: Identified as short-necked plesiosaur, it is shown as another rival, but the mosasaurs also preyed upon it.

Elasmosaurus: Identified as long-necked plesiosaur. It is shown as another rival and prey animal of the mosasaur.

Xiphactinus: A predatory fish, it is shown hunting, and then being eaten by a mosasaur.

Dallasaurus: It has a very short appearance on the episode, but is shown as a relative of the mosasaurs.

Episode Four, Great American Predator

In this episode, the "Acro" is depicted as an apex predator, strong enough to kill prey ten times its size. Afterward, a young Acrocanthosaurus is shown being scared off by a pack of Deinonychus and being forced to hunt harder prey, like Sauropelta.

Acrocanthosaurus: The main animal of the episode and it is shown as an apex predator.

Paluxysaurus: It is shown as a prey for Acrocanthosaurus following a pursuit and a brief fight.

Tenontosaurus: Referred to as the "Cretaceous cow," Tenontosaurus attempts to use its tail to defend itself from the Acrocanthosaur's predations, but ultimately fails.

Deinonychus: A competitive predator, a pack of these dinosaurs is shown chasing a young Acrocanthosaurus away from its intended meal.

Sauropelta: A heavily-built herbivore, it is shown as a potential prey animal for the Acrocanthosaurus, but the Acro is driven away by Sauropelta's spines.

Episode Five, Bear dog

This episode features the great Bear dog Amphicyon ingens as the new top predator of North America, able to defeat the Terminator Pig using it's intelligence and smaller size to out compete it. After five million years of dominating the landscape, the bear dog grew bigger, but the "true dogs" apeared and competed with Amphicyon. They began to attack and kill the pups in their borrows, and at the end they go extinct.

Amphicyon ingens: The main predator of its time and it was dominant for five million years.

Daeodon: Nicknamed "Terminator Pig" was the first rival of Amphicyon. First it was too large but then the bear dog became bigger and smarter, then it drove it to extinction.

Moropus: A chalicothere and one of the main prey of both bear dog and Terminator pig.

Merychippus: A primitive horse, another prey for Amphicyon, but then it became fast enough to escape.

Ramoceros: A pronghorn, it was a small prey for bear dog.

Epicyon: Called "true dog" was the newest competitor of Amphicyon. A pack scares off a bear dog from its meal. Then the pack kills the pups of bear dogs in their burrows.

Episode Six, Great Ripper

In this episode they recreate the Megalania, the top predator of Australia for hundreds of thousands of years. Hunting the largest marsupials ever to evolve using its senses and venom to kill its prey, and had almost not competition in the continent, until man's arrive. There have been rumors that it still roams the outback. This is the last episode of the series.

Megalania: The top predator of Australia during the Ice Age. It was the largest lizard ever to evolve. Used its senses and strategies to hunt.

Procoptodon: The largest kangaroo ever, was a prey for Megalania. It's shown kicking Megalania and trying to escape, but Megalania was fast enough to bite its tail and finish it.

Diprotodon: The largest marsupial ever, used its size as a main defense. Megalania attacks it and kills it using its venom.

Thylacoleo:, The marsupial lion: Was one of the few rivals of Megalania. A Thylacoleo attacks a Megalania from behind and tries to bite it on the neck, but Megalania defends itself with its tail, then strikes back.

"Humans:" New from the Asian South Pacific, the group of people known as the aborigines came to Australia at around 60,000 years ago. And as they began clearing and burning the environment thus destroying the ecosystem the large herbivores both Megalania and Thylacoleo depended died out and in turn they die out as well . And with the their competition extinct the aborigines reigned Australia as its top predator as well as learn from the environment on how important nature is to them.
