Episode 40
The translation doesn't match the japanese name. why? Seelentau (talk) 14:28, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
- The voiceover for the Episode 40 preview (Broadcast at the end of episode 39) said that the episode was called "Homunculus", whereas the text on the screen said something different (The Little One Inside the Flask). I suppose this episode can be thought of as having 2 titles. Aratron of Saturn (talk) 21:16, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
- I guess it's more like the Katakana for "Homunculus" are the fuurigana for "The little one in the flask". Seelentau (talk) 21:09, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
I looked at the translation for Episode 40's title which is フラスコの中の小人, and it does indeed translate to "The little one in the flask", or "The dwarf in the flask". The romaji for it is Furasuko no naka no kodomo. Not sure where the Homunculus part is but whatever I suppose.
Any ideas on how to fix the title or help it make more sense?
~Garfield Turtle Anime~ (talk) 03:11, 24 April 2010 (UTC) Hajiru
- Like what Seelentau said, ホムンクルス is used as hiragana for the whole title. It was the same with the chapter title in the manga. Geg (talk) 04:10, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying. We'll keep the title as is.

English Airdates
What exactly is the convention on the English airdates? I've been having a discussion/debate with User:Collectonian over at Talk:List of InuYasha episodes who seems to think that it should specify the date on which an official subtitled version aired/went online. Though few people would agree with her on that one, my question is not that. Should it refer to the date the English-dubbed version first aired anywhere in the world or the date the English-dubbed version first aired in North America/the UK? Kagome1977 (talk) 05:46, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
The English (dubbed) episodes were aired on Animax Asia long before they were on Adult Swim. I just wanted to discuss before I got bold and changed the dates. Kagome1977 (talk) 05:48, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- Kindly avoid misrepresenting what I said. I said the first English airing/online, period, is what goes in the list, be it dubbed or subtitled. This is the same as is done with all manga lists. If it was published in the UK or Singapore first, that is its first English release date. This is not the American Wikipedia. (and with regard to that particular list, you claimed we should remove the NA air dates purely because they are subtitled and replaced them with an English television airing if/when there is one). If there are reliable sources showing it this series first aired dubbed on Animax, it should be updated to reflect those dates. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 05:54, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry. What am I misrepresenting? Kagome1977 (talk) 06:50, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- Apparently you don't read too well. You stated, "I've been having a discussion/debate with User:Collectonian over at Talk:List of InuYasha episodes who seems to think that it should specify the date on which an official subtitled version aired/went online." Collectonian is saying that she said it is "the first English airing/online...be it dubbed or subtitled." Obviously, what you said she said is not what she is saying she said. Capiche? I agree with her that it should be the first English airing, whether dubbed or subtitled. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 18:24, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- Right. Sorry about that Collectonian. Nihonjoe, just so I'm clear, you are FOR listing the airdates of the first airing (anywhere in the world)/online either with English subtitles OR English dubbed, in this case (as most other cases) the English-subtitled version that's airing on Animax, right? - Kagome1977 (talk) 03:40, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- What part of "first airing" and "whether dubbed or subbed" do you not seem to grasp or understand? Collectonian and I have both said this several different ways, yet you seem to still not understand. Is English not your first language? If not, which is it and we'll find someone who can explain in that language so you are clear on this issue. Your continued inability (or refusal, not sure which) to understand is becoming disruptive. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 20:10, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- Right. Sorry about that Collectonian. - You didn't answer my question. Still, I'll answer yours: Spanish. What's yours? And are you being sincere or sarcastic? First of all, I understand Collectonian's position from the very beginning. I did misquote her but only because of my belief that there would most certainly be a legal airing of a subtitled version of an anime somewhere on the planet before somebody embarks upon dubbing it. (You're most welcome to point out an exception if you have the time and will for it.) Second, you don't need to pounce on me like that even if I did not understand your English. I notice some discrepancy and try to make the Wikipedia more consistent in the politest way possible and you call that "disruptive"? -Kagome1977 (talk) 06:45, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
- But I have answered your question. Since you didn't seem to catch it the first time, here it is again: The first airing, whether dubbed or subbed in English. It makes no difference which is first as it's still the first in English regardless of which it is. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 03:28, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Keeping in consistency with this article as well as other articles, the dates that the go subbed online really shouldn't be added for the recent episodes. I don't really see the point in having the English airdates be the time they went up subtitled online, since that's neither "airing" nor in English. Geg (talk) 15:02, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Yes. Besides they were added without a note about what were those dates, giving confusion to readers.Tintor2 (talk) 13:35, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Episode 61 onward?
I've heard many rumors that FMA will end with the 60th episode. Even here aren't any episodes listed after the 60th. Can anybody clarify this please? Seelentau (talk) 21:39, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- The following episodes may not have been listed cause their titles were not announced. User Geg is the one who tends to add the titles, but I don't know from where. Nevertheless, according to the official site the series will finish in the 62nd episode, though this could change considering it was previously 63 episodes.Tintor2 (talk) 22:12, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
According to Anime News Network's page for FMA Brotherhood's episodes (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=10216&page=25), here's how the episodes look:
2010-06-06 60. Heaven's Eye, Earth's Door (Ten no Hitomi, Chi no Tobira 天の瞳、地の扉)
2010-06-13 61.
2010-06-20 62.
2010-06-27 63.
Even Anime News Network doesn't have the episode names yet though. It will probably be revealed when the schedule for the last 3 episodes come up on Japanese TV or on the site for FMA or TBS in Japan
I trust the source because they usually are pretty good about keeping all the info as accurate and true as possible.
According to the Italian Wikipedia, episode 59 had manga chapters 101 and 102 (http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Episodi_di_Fullmetal_Alchemist:_Brotherhood#ep59). I doubt that they will end so soon when the manga is supposed to end on chapter 108.
Most likely the episodes will be like this based on my theory (I could be wrong so don't quote me on this please):
2010-06-06 60. 103 - 104 OR 103 - part of 105
2010-06-13 61. 105 - 106 OR 105 that didn't air the previous episode - part of 106
2010-06-20 62. Part of 106 that didn't air the previous episode - 107 OR 106 - 107 OR 107 only OR 107 - part of 108
2010-06-27 63. 108 fully OR the part of 108 that didn't air the previous episode
Any of these are a possiblilty depending on how the director handles it. In the end we'll just have to see how it all plays out.
Hope this helps, and that any of this made any sense.

- None of those are wp:reliable sources so we can't use them and saying what chapters have certain episodes is WP:OR.Tintor2 (talk) 16:31, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Wikipedia from Italy and ANN are not reliable? How do you think they get their source? They probably get theirs from the same site you posted earlier.
As for the episodes, I was GUESSING what chapters would be in what episode if you had read it. That's why I said "Most likely the episodes will be like this based on my theory" and "Any of these are a possiblilty depending on how the director handles it. In the end we'll just have to see how it all plays out". I don't really know how they're going to do it, that's why I was guessing what it might be.
Before we start arguing and stuff, you want I should delete the posts from me? And forget I even posted since it isn't relevant (bad spelling)?
~Garfield Turtle Anime~ (talk) 13:24, 5 June 2010 (UTC) Hajiru
- The point is that the encyclopedia section of ANN is user edited like wikipedia, so it's unreliable. Additionally, Wikipedia is not a source, so referencing with another wiki is not what should be done. About you deleting your posts, it's your choice although it is the best to keep it so that other users know about it. By the way, I also tend to make lots of grammar mistakes...Tintor2 (talk) 21:49, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
ah good point, sorry about the trouble....I'll leave the stuff up for now.
I think it's safe to say that we all do XP
~Garfield Turtle Anime~ (talk) 12:39, 6 June 2010 (UTC) Hajiru
One more thing; it has been confirmed through a couple of magazine scans that the final episode will actually be episode 64 on July 4, but the only title listed so far is just "Final Episode" so I'm not sure if that's the actual title that will be used. Geg (talk) 16:29, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Geg, you beat me to it. XD
I just found that out and I was like oops there goes my theory. XP
We'll just have to see how it goes. Hope it all ends well. :)

English manga names vs English anime names
I was told that this article refers to the names of several characters, places, etc. as they were spelled in the Viz Media translation of the manga rather than the ones applied to the anime to maintain consistency with other articles relating to the series, particularly the favoring of "Lin Yao" over "Ling Yao" and "Ishbal" over "Ishval". While it was deemed the official licensed names provided be used for the article, it contradicts another point that was made regarding the use of licensed names as they are used by the Funimation dub of this anime. From the way things appear, however, it would seem that such a statement was intended to apply only to the anime-exclusive character Isaac McDougal, also known as the "Freezing Alchemist", the latter title of which sparked the controversy that led to the settlement of the use of the official dub's translation, so it may do little to back up my argument. However, I choose to relate it to a similar issue in the past that was resolved and applies to what is now, at the very least, dubbed a good article: that of Aerith Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII. It has long been stated that the character's official licensed name is spelled "Aerith" after her name was initially transliterated as "Aeris", it was decided by the consensus that latter spelling be used in reference to the character in any medium where it is used. In retrospect, however, it may be that issue that prevents the article from becoming a featured article. If not, then I feel that the same should apply to this article. Otherwise, I shall refer to the discussion of the character article and see whether I can't get the alternative, "unofficial" official spellings to receive a more outstanding mention. Immblueversion (talk) 23:48, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- Aerith Gainsborough's article follows the guidelines from the Square Wikiproject (however it sounds very inconsistent to mention Aerith and Aeris in the same article which has lead the article to be edited by anon users), while this list should refer to the guidelines of the anime and manga project which state we have to use the English name from the primary media. There has already been lots of discussion regarding Lin/Ling and Ishbal/Ishval and it was decided to use the first ones per guidelines.Tintor2 (talk) 16:34, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Wrong episode titles
The titles given in this article don't match up with the ones on Cartoon Network's site, off the top of my head, I suspect this is because the article gives the titles used by an earlier subtitled release, but not for the new dub release. Is this intentional? If not, both titles should be listed for each episode. 72.235.213.232 (talk) 09:34, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
- They match up with the ones on Funimation's site. Geg (talk) 18:08, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Episode 64 template
According to several reputable "primary source" sites[1][2][3], including the Newspage of the Official Website there will be a 64th Episode to be broadcast on July 4, 2010. So far there is no official episode name, although this unknown publication may hold an unofficial clue (in the lower left corner) if you can read Japanese. Additionally, at the end of Episode 62 the final stillframe of the video says "Don't miss the final 2 episodes." Being that this is an integral part of the actual production it is a very WP:RS to confirm that there are indeed 64 episodes.
Based on this information I am adding a 64th Episode template to the list with information to be filled in as available. 66.102.205.16 (talk) 08:42, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- There's no point in adding the template without the actual episode title. We never added untitled episode templates before this, so just wait until the title is revealed. Geg (talk) 20:31, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- Under normal circumstances I would agree, however this is an unusual circumstance because for a very long time now it has been thought the series would end on Episode 63. The fact that a new and unexpected episode has been added at the last minute should be reflected in this list and (as soon as a WP:RS can be found discussing it) a section on the unusualness of this change should also be included. 66.102.205.16 (talk) 20:45, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- Did the article even state the series would end with 63 episodes?Tintor2 (talk) 21:36, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
EDIT WAR on Ep 64 Title
I have reverted this edit because
- (1) The citation in both edits is identical and yet provides two different titles/facts. This is not possible.
- (2) I have looked through the provided citation and cannot find the "new" Japanese text/title provided. I can however find the text provided in the first edit.
Either the ref is not exact enough to differentiate between the two edits or else the new title is not reliably cited.
Finally, a friendly warning that the 2nd edit contains an edit summary that is clearly arrogant and borders on uncollegiate behaviour. 66.102.198.93 (talk) 20:17, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
