Vagabond Army Heliport, formerly Vagabond Army Airfield, is located at the Yakima Training Center (YTC) in the state of Washington. Currently, only rotary winged aircraft are authorized utilize this facility as the facility has been closed to fixed wing aircraft. The existing 1600-foot runway serves as a hover lane for approaches and departures. All repair and maintenance is facilitated to accommodate rotary winged aircraft. The contractor maintains and repairs the runway, taxi and parking areas to prevent rotary winged aircraft from foreign object damage (FOD). Repair of aircraft parking areas includes grading hover and parking areas to provide proper drainage, and grading stabilized areas to prevent ponding of water and irregularities in surfaces.[1]
