The Wonderful Maladys is a HBO television pilot written by Charles Randolph, directed by Alan Taylor and starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. HBO did not pick the series for their lineup.[1]

Plot

Gotham-set ensemble pilot revolved around the dysfunctional lives of three adult siblings who lost their parents at a young age.[2]

After their parents' death: Alice (Sarah Michelle Gellar) found refuge in alcohol and aggressiveness. Mary (Molly Parker) from Swingtown, found refuge in her work as a therapist, despite being unable to follow advice she gives to her clients. The last one, Neil (Nate Corddry) found refuge in, well, weirdness.

Production

The pilot starred Sarah Michelle Gellar who also served as executive producer.

The pilot began shooting on May 11, 2009 in New York City. Outside shots were filmed at 113th and Riverside Drive on May 13.[3]

It also starred Nate Corddry, who played Gellar's younger "bookish grad student" brother, Molly Parker as her older therapist sister, Adam Scott Alice's ex, and Zac Orth as her sister's husband.[4][5]

The pilot was not picked up by HBO.[1]
