Dinner for Schmucks is an upcoming comedy film, and a remake of the 1998 French film The Dinner Game ("Le Dîner de Cons"), an adaptation of the eponymous Francis Veber play. The film is directed by Jay Roach and written by David Guion and Michael Handelman, and stars Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, who have previously teamed up in Anchorman and The 40 Year-Old Virgin. It is scheduled to be released on July 30, 2010. The movie was also made in Bollywood, it is called Beja Fry.
Plot
Tim (Rudd) is a rising executive who "succeeds" in finding the perfect guest, IRS employee Barry (Carell), for his boss's monthly event: a so-called "dinner for idiots". The gathering offers certain advantages to the executive who shows up with the biggest buffoon.

Production
The film is inspired by The Dinner Game, a French black comedy which is itself based on the French play Le Dîner de Cons.
Filming of the dinner scene took place at the same location as was used for Wayne Manor in the Batman television series.[2]
Release
Dinner for Schmucks was pushed back a week to July 30, 2010, to avoid competition with Salt and Inception.[3][4]
Marketing
As part of promoting the film the website Funny or Die featured videos of Jemaine Clement in character as Kieran Vollard.[5][6]
