I try to follow guidelines. Why, you ask?
Because I don't want to be one of the -bags that makes Wikipedia a horrible place like the dreadful 4Chan which is where I'd suggest any trolls and vandals migrate to. You'll see that your kind are more common there, though the other users are just as, if not more, ferocious than any troll and the sysops there are the opposite of Snapple's slogan.
You also have my absolute blessing to give Wiktionary heck if they're still as toothy as the last time I was there.
I hope I don't look like a narcissist for the 50 userboxes you see, I just found them funny and thought you might as well.
- I don't mess around with EV too much, not that it isn't important, but because it means needing to have acquired an expertise in just about every subject, and no one has that. I will try to request more information on subjects so I can be more critical of those issues, but generally I go by the quality of the image and whether it meets the guidelines and is to my liking alone.
- I try to be fair to the various types of visual arts out there.
- I try to be as constructively critical as possible and I expect the same of other critics.
- I want to see as many images be featured as possible, so if I feel there's a problem with an image I will probably suggest it be fixed instead of just outright opposing it, that is to say if there's any hope of fixing it.
- I want all critics to reach consensus, so I will not tolerate inflexible critics; An FPC critic should make fair suggestions to improve an image if possible, or at least have a good explanation for why they oppose a nomination.
- Don't forget the valued picture candidates and peer review!
- I want YOU to know that your votes, views and the images you feel are feature-worthy matter, too. Just remember, featured status is the highest compliment Wikipedia can give to an image, so make sure you select and support the best only.
See my userboxes!
I hope you'll enjoy them.
