The Linny Pacillo Parking Garage provides more than 840 parking spaces for State employee vehicles, with 40 spaces available to visitors on State business. The garage sits across from and services the Robert B. Atwood Building in Anchorage, Alaska.

Design

The Linny Pacillo Parking Garage is an exciting structure that features retail shops, restaurants, and other businesses at ground level with nine floors of parking overhead.

The street-front retail spaces are tucked under covered walkways that form a brightly lit colonnade. The colonnade promotes and sustains pedestrian activity, particularly in winter. Heated sidewalks ring three sides of the building for added winter safety. The retail along F Street forms a strong pedestrian link between the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center, the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, and the William A. Egan Civic & Convention Center.

The new sidewalks are wider than existing sidewalks and have a unique pattern & texture. Bike racks, benches, and kiosks have been installed as well.

The exterior façade features vehicle barrier cables sleeved through the concrete columns, which are in turn enveloped by a skin consisting of two types of metal louver panels, along with voids, that create dynamic and ascending diagonal patterns. The 7th Avenue façade features public artwork of Alaska's ealry leaders. Glass enclosed stair towers are on two corners of the parking garage, with an elevator lobby at 7th Avenue and F Street.

Construction of the Linny Pacillo Parking Center began February 1, 2007, and opened in September, 2008.[1]
