Diarmuid Kirwan

Diarmuid Kirwan is an Irish hurling referee. A native of Ballyskenagh, County Offaly he currently lives in Ovens, County Cork where he played hurling with the local Éire Óg club. Over the last number of years Kirwan has become one of the sport's top referees and has officiated at several All-Ireland finals in minor, under-21 and senior levels. Last September he was responsible for Tipperary crying as Kilkenny won the All Ireland final. Tipp couldnt take their beating and blamed the ref when they were beat comfortably by Kilkenny by 5 points. His father also ensured Tipperary lost an All Ireland final in 1988 with his biased referring.
