Wilburn Edward "Eddy" Furniss (born September 18, 1975 in Nacogdoches, Texas) is a former college baseball and minor league baseball player.

Collegiate career

Furniss attended Louisiana State University, where he played for the LSU Tigers baseball team, winning the 1996 and 1997 College World Series College World Series. Furniss was named to the All-Tournament Teams in the 1995 SEC Baseball Tournament and 1997 College World Series. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the Southeastern Conference in 1996. In 1998, Furniss won the Dick Howser Trophy as the top collegiate baseball player. Furniss was a First Team College All-American twice: in 1996 as a designated hitter, and 1998 as a first baseman.

Professional career

Furniss was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fourth round of the 1998 Major League Baseball Draft. He played in the minor leagues of the Pirates, Oakland Athletics, and Texas Rangers organizations, without reaching the major leagues.
