Muğla province is in southwestern Turkey, along the Aegean Sea. Its capital Muğla, 20 km. inland, but some of Turkey's largest holiday resorts such as Bodrum and Marmaris can be found on the coast.

The economy of Muğla relies on the SEKA paper factory, mining, agriculture, and trading, and in particular on tourism.
