Monongalia General Hospital (Mon General) is a 189-bed community hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. It is the cornerstone of the Mon Health System, an "integrated health care delivery system" that provides a full range of family centered care to residents of north-central West Virginia and southwestern Pennsylvania. The hospital offers a full range of services and is known for its General Surgery, Cardiology, Orthopedics, and Birth Center.[citation needed]
In July 2008, the hospital opened its new Hazel Ruby McQuain Tower, which features all private inpatient rooms, a Women's Imaging Center, a larger Emergency Department, an expanded Imaging Department, and a state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit. The new tower was one part of a four-year expansion and renovation project, which is to be completed in December 2009. When the project is complete, Mon General will be 100 percent all private in-patient rooms.[citation needed]
