Elena Stejko is a New Zealand actress, casting director and acting coach. A student at the Kiev University of Culture, Stejko has taught the Chekhov and Stanislavsky acting methods for 8 years.[1]

Career

Stejko is an accomplished actress, singer and dancer, and has appeared in television productions Mercy Peak and Shortland Street, as well as directing several theatre productions. Stejko appears in the feature film Russian Snark, as Nadia, the wife and muse of a tortured artist.[2]

She has also played the lead in a Japanese feature film called The Promise.[3] She has been a casting director for 10 years, and co-wrote a script for a New Zealand feature film Rain with director Christine Jeff.[4]

Stejko has just finished a season of Romeo and Juliet where she played Lady Capulet at the Maidment Theatre.[5]

Awards

Stejko has just been nominated for Best Actress at the 2010 Qantas Film and Television Awards for her portrayal of Nadia in Russian Snark.[6]
