Wow!
Greetings! It really looks like you've been stepping on people's toes lately... or are they all mad 'cos their team's not a finalist and they ain't got nuffin' better to do? Not even help clean up... Just a quick word of support - in the face of so much whatever-their-reasons-are - to the receiver of all their ire: Don't let 'em get to you! Cheers! --Technopat (talk) 00:53, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- LOL... I'd say it's a bit of both. I do tend to draw a bit of ire from those who think that every suggestion is law (even when they're contradictory). Always nice to hear from you, and thanks for the support. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 01:03, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Creating an account
I see that you fight vandalism on here using an IP address, but having an account is will make it much easier for you as you'll easily get Rollback (which means you can undo vandalism with one click and at a faster rate), Wikipedia:Twinkle will also make your life easier as when you activate it, all the tags (like speedy deletion, afd, and all their specifics are at the top of you wikipedia bar) and now with the new pending protection, you can become a Wikipedia:Reviewer which means you can help make sure those pages are protected which you can't if you don't have reviewer privileges. You can get all this right away as you have good track record. Tell me if you're interested. --Everyone Dies In the End (talk) 21:24, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

- Yes, you really should consider making an account. See Wikipedia:Why create an account? for more details. I must point out that IP addresses may periodically change, which means you could lose all of your edits. For a username, I would suggest using the text in the captcha ;-) Happy editing! - I've been doing this for years and have "lost" more edits than most editors will ever have. I don't keep score, so it that aspect bothers me not at all. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 23:35, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

Deletion reminder.
When tagging an article for any type of deletion unless it's pure vandalism, it is extremely important to post a {{db-notice}}
on their talk page.
- In your most recent case, it would be {{subst:db-bio-notice}} as an article about a person that doesn't indicate the significance. Remember not to include the tt or nowiki arguments inside it. mechamind90 23:49, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Mechamind, thanks, but I think 69 knows that; they've been around the block. How are you doing, 69? There's a party at my house tonight, and there will be a ton of beer. If you want to quit Wiki early tonight, c'mon by. Drmies (talk) 23:59, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Count me in! 69.181.249.92 (talk) 00:13, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, and Mechamind, I haven't yet thanked you for the box in a previous thread. Thank you! 69.181.249.92 (talk) 17:12, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Note, though. I do insist after tagging a page for CSD that you go to the creator's talk page and post {{subst:db-a7-notice|Article name}} or something similar. Just the right thing to do...even though their article will likely be deleted anyway. mechamind90 23:10, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- Insist away, but it's not going to do any good. I've been through this discussion many times under many different IP addresses and it always boils down to "it's recommended but not required." Even been to ANI once or twice... 69.181.249.92 (talk) 23:12, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- Okay then.
And I think the IP address should be allowed to be manually confirmed to move and edit semi-protected pages. You're pretty well established similar to an individual person anyhow. I'm pretty sure some administrators would approve. mechamind90 01:27, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello,
Thank you for contributing to the article I've been working on for the Ontario Crafts Council. I am new to Wikipedia so I really appreciate the input of individuals who are more familiar with Wikipedia standards.
I'm not sure why you removed the list I posted of "Notable Members." The Saidye Bronfman Award is a Governor General's Award, which is one of the highest honours you can receive in Canada. If you do not believe that this constitutes noteworhtiness, please tell me your reasoning, so I can further consider whether it is worthwhile to include.
As for the list of leading academics and professors, I can understand that their names may only have resonance with members of the Ontario craft community. Thanks for bringing this to my attention - I will have to think further about it.
Cheers. Amcawa (talk) 16:20, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
- In general, an indiscriminate lists are to be avoided, hence my removal of a few of them from this article (previous locations, etc.). The names are usually only considered worth inclusion if 1)they are essential to an understanding of the subject and 2) they are noteworthy in and of themselves. I didn't see either of those in the list. It seemd more an attempt to bolster the notability of the OCC by saying "these people won this award and they're members so OCC must be important," a form of bolstering the credentials of OCC by association. It would be like listing the membership of the Screen Actors Guild members who have won Oscars as a means of demonstrating the notability of SAG.69.181.249.92 (talk) 20:46, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
Hey
I'm linking to pages which would not be notable on this encyclopedia. All of the links are informative and sourced. Greedlook (talk) 18:32, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- They fail the external links guidelines and they are not linked to a reliable source. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 18:33, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- There are thousands of links to Wikia and other wikis! Why can't you just accept the fact that when those red links will be filled, they will be deleted a second later as not notable pages? Greedlook (talk) 18:34, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS is a very poor reason to create more crap. If the names aren't notable enough for their own article, then they don't belong in the list to begin with. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 18:36, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Possibly incorrect image licensing
{{helpme}}
Which tag should be used when the licensing of a particular image is in doubt? I'm specifically thinking of File:Tatyana Petsa's foto.jpg, but it's an issue I run across frequently enough that I should know how to deal with it. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 03:04, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
- On Commons, that's {{subst:npd}} for missing permission. subst:nld for no license, subst:nsd for no source. —fetch·comms 03:07, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
- The image, as it currently stands, doesn't "exist" per se. It's an extension of the one already at commons, so there's currently "nothing" there. If you want to tag it, you'll have to go to the page at commons. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 03:10, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
In that specific case, I think it should be deleted; if it is from a magazine, it is highly likely to be non-free, which is not permitted on Commons.
In general, if in doubt, ask on WP:MCQ. Chzz ► 04:12, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you, an answer I can finally comprehend. Did I mention that I really hate image licensing/permission issues? 69.181.249.92 (talk) 04:16, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletions
Please be aware that there is no policy that prevents anyone, even an article creator, from removing a proposed deletion template. PROD is not the same as speedy deletion. If you still believe the article must be deleted after the removal of a PROD template, then that simply means an AfD is to be initiated. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 13:29, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Meniscus Film Festival
Just a quick note to let you know that I removed the speedy deletion template you placed on Meniscus Film Festival because the article did not seem to meet the speedy deletion criterion A7. The subject is a real-world cultural event which has verifiable press coverage
Please be aware that is normally inappropriate re-add a speedy deletion template when another editor (other than the creator of the article) has removed it, because speedy deletion is only for uncontroversial deletions. If you believe the article still needs to be deleted, please consider WP:PROD or WP:AFD which can be used for deletions which are not covered by the speedy deletion criteria.
I am not an administrator and I do not have any special authority in this matter. If you feel that I have made a mistake, please feel free to contact me on my talk page.
