The third National Consultative Assembly elections after Iranian Revolution was held on April 8, 1988 and the first meeting was held on 29 May, 1988 in Parliament. Parliament Speaker was Hojatoleslam Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, that after his election as President, Mehdi Karroubi became the Speaker.The deputy speakers was: Hossein Hashemian and Asadollah Bayat-Zanjani.


In this period and after revision of the constitution, the name of the National Consultative Assembly officially changed to the Islamic Consultative Assembly. Template:Iranian legislative election, 1988
