The Great Locomotive Chase Festival
The Great Locomotive Chase Festival is a three day celebration held in remembering the Great Locomotive Chase (April 12, 1862). [1] It is held the first weekend each October in the center of downtown Adairsville.
Activities
The festival has arts and crafts booths, historical exhibits, concerts, entertainment, carnival rides, and over 40 food booths.[2] Pageants are held on Friday and Saturday, as well as street dances. The Grand Parade and Gospel singing are held Saturday afternoon.
Times
- Festival: Friday & Saturday - 8AM until 11:30 PM, Sunday - 12 noon until 5 PM.
- Little Mr. & Miss Festival Pageant: Friday – 6PM.
- Grand Parade: Saturday – 11AM.
- Miss Festival and Junior Miss Festival pageants: Saturday- 3 PM.
- Street dances: Friday & Saturday- 8PM until 11PM.
- Gospel Singing: Sunday- 8PM until 11PM.
