Examples of the type of Islamic head coverings banned in public places

Forbidding the Dissimulation of the Face in the Public Space Bill was french law passed in 2010, forbidding the wearing of Burqas, Hijabs, and other veils covering the face in public. [1]

The French Parliament began an initial inquiry on the issue shortly after President Nicolas Sarkozy stated such veils were "not welcome" within France in June 2009.[2]
