DmC, is an upcoming action game developed by Ninja Theory and published by Capcom for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.[1] The game is the fifth installment to the Devil May Cry series and serves as a reboot to the series. The game follows the adventure of a new version of Dante. The game will be released on both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It is the first in the series not to be developed internally by Capcom, and the second game of an originally-internally developed series to be passed on to a western developer after Dead Rising 2. Capcom will bring three of their development staff to work with Ninja Theory.[2]

Development

The game was officially announced by Capcom at their press conference during the Tokyo Game Show 2010 in September,[2] confirming an earlier rumor in April 2010 in a May issue of Game Informer which said that the fifth Devil May Cry game would be developed by Ninja Theory.[3]

Announcement

Early reception regarding Dante's style change, the reboot of the franchise and debut trailer as a whole have been overwhelmingly negative among most fans of the series. [citation needed]

Little is known about the project yet. However, it has been confirmed to be a reimagined version of the Devil May Cry series. It's possible that the game will have little to no connection to previous entries in the series.[citation needed]
