The LG Optimus (LG GT540), previously known as LG GT540 Swift[2], is a low-end smartphone manufactured by LG Electronics. The Optimus runs the 1.6 version of Android. It was designed for first time smartphone users which its slogan "Optimal performance for first time smartphone users"[3] says. The phone provides four colours which are black, white, pink and silver. It was announced on April 27, 2010. It is now available worldwide. According to 4pda.ru it is rumoured that an update to v2.1 of Android will be available sometime in September 2010.
