Soraya Manutchehri

Soraya Manutchehri was a a 35-year-old woman who was allegedly convicted of adultery, and stoned to death in a small village in rural Iran, on August 15, 1986. [1] Manutchehri's death was the subject of a 1990 novel titled La Femme Lapidée by Freidoune Sahebjam, and later adopted as a movie called The Stoning of Soraya M. in 2008.
