Darlington College is a further education college in Darlington, County Durham, England. The college is located at a new campus in Central Park, Haughton Road. With support from Darlington Borough Council and Tees Valley Regeneration the college was built by Shepard Construction, starting in 2004. It was opened in September 2006 and officially opened by then-Prime Minister Tony Blair on 22 December 2006. The college had previously been located at Cleveland Avenue, Darlington using the name Darlington College of Technology..
Teaching
The college offers a range of vocational courses, and the new University Centre unites the further and higher education of Darlington College with that of Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College and the University of Teesside.
College facilities
Darlington College offers a learning and training environment which includes:

- Restaurant and food court
- Hair and beauty salons
- Weather and meteorology.
Some of the college's facilities are open to the general public and there are good links with local bus and rail services.
History as Technical College
The college originated from Darlington Technical College, which opened in 1897. The first college was built by the Borough of Darlington next to North Lodge Park ‘to help continue the efficiency of manufacturing and commerce’.[1]
By the 1950s the college used 28 buildings around Darlington and in 1955 took over the Girls High School building in Cleveland Avenue. New blocks were opened in 1957, and between 1963 and 1972 further development concentrated education on a single site.
In 1973 the college was using the name Darlington College of Technology,[2] a name still in use in 2005.[3]
Notable alumni
- John Sergeant trained as a journalist at Darlington College while reporting for the Liverpool Echo, after he attended Magdalen College, Oxford.
