In an interview with Wired, Will Smith says he didn't apply.

Very optimistic POV? "Will Smith is arguably the biggest star in today's pop culture" - I'm a HUGE (and I mean HUUUGE) fan of the guy, but c'mon, he's not the biggest star.

Politics

Is Will active in politics? It seems to me that such a driven man who has achived such fame and fortune will eventually want to be part of the government. history has shown that popularity is key to winning an election and Will seems to have the charisma and supprt (among other things) to make it possible.
