Nina Musumeci (born April 9, 1986) is a beauty queen from Connecticut who competed in the Miss Teen USA pageant in 2003.

Biography

Early life and education

Daughter of Joseph Musumeci and Lisa Anderson, Nina Anne Musumeci was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. Musumeci graduated from West Hartford's Kingswood-Oxford School in 2004. She is the great granddaughter of William Hamilton Anderson. Nina has only one sibling, an older brother named Michael Musumeci, who is a disc jockey from Washington, D.C. Michael is the owner and founder of a disc jockey combo known as "Party on Marz".[1]

Pageants

Miss Connecticut Teen USA

In November 2002, Musumeci was crowned Miss Connecticut Teen USA 2003.[2] She then went on to compete in the Miss Teen USA 2003 pageant, the 21st Miss Teen USA pageant, which was televised live from Palm Springs on August 12, 2003 on the NBC network. Although Musumeci did not place she had to support of her friends and family in her hometown of Hartford.[3]

Career

Musumeci says she was drawn into modeling after she babysat for the former Mrs. Connecticut who said that she should try out.[4] Hartford Mayor Eddie Pérez proclaimed December 9, 2002 a day in her honor.[5] After her reign, Nina continued modeling in New York City where she attended Fordham University at Lincoln Center. She has worked for networks such as NBC and Spike TV.[6] Musumeci recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Media and Communications with a concentration in film studies from Fordham University in May 2008.[7]
