Company Profile

[edit]

Verismic Software is a privately held wholly owned subsidiary of Sparxent Corporation and is a software company with distributors in USA, UK, FR, and DE. Verismic develops computer software for distributed international IT environments. Verismic products are predominantly used in private sector and government organisations. Originally the software division of NetworkD Corporation, Verismic was spun out in 2009[1] after the acquisition by Sparxent[2] in order to provide greater focus on their software solutions.

Verismic is based in the UK and operates as a trading division of Sparxent Europe Ltd (formally NetworkD Europe Ltd). Sparxent Europe Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sparxent Inc. The most recently published accounts are available at UK Companies House for the Sparxent Europe Ltd entity.[3]:

Products

[edit]

Verismic currently develops four software products:

Power Manager On-Premise

[edit]

A web-based [4] software utility designed to provide metrics on PC utilisation and associated cost and carbon emissions combined with the ability to apply detailed policy controls to reduce unnecessary power wastage. Running on Windows servers and workstations.

Power Manager is designed to address the recognised needs of PC Power Management to reduce the IT impact on global carbon emissions and to reduce overall power costs. The On-Premise version supports organisations of 100 to 100,000+ PCs via o system installed internally within the organisation.

Power Manager MSP (Managed Service Provider)

[edit]

Launched in July 2010[5], Power Manager MSP is designed to allow MSP organisations to deliver PC Power Management across the internet from a central location or for organisations providing shared service to co-host services on the same physical hardware. Power Manager MSP is designed to allow multi-tenant hosting of service for the provision of support/service to multiple customers across distributed environments.

Power Manager MSP provides a standard system for PC Power Management that does not require the per customer or per site infrastructure and software investment of traditional solutions.

Power Manager Hosted

[edit]

Dedicated commercial PC Power Management tools are often targeted specifically at larger enterprises due to their advanced technologies and infrastructure needs. Smaller to mid-size organisations of up to 500 PCs often find the initial investment in hardware and software to be disproportionately high compared to these larger organisations and this can make it difficult to justify the implementation of power saving.

Launched in July 2010[6], Power Manager Hosted allows for the provisional of PC Power Management facilities of the same functionality level to organisations of any size across the internet via Software as a Service SaaS. Up front investments in hardware and software are not necessary allowing the financial returns to be more quickly realised and to be less of a barrier to the implemetation of a solution. The presence of advanced functionality in a solution targeted at organisations of this size helps to ensure that the technical barriers associated with these projects can still be overcome.

Password Reset

[edit]

Designed to reduce the number of service calls received relating to forgotten user passwords, Password Reset gives end users the ability to reset their own passwords (self-service password reset) using pre-registered questions and answers. Password Reset is a web-based solution integrating to Microsoft's Active Directory and supporting client OS versions Windows XP up to Windows 7.

Archive Analytics

[edit]

Archive Analytics provides historical tracking for the LANDesk Software Management products. By tracking the changes within the LANDesk inventory and software distribution areas of the system, Archive Analytics provides metrics that are otherwise limited or unavailable within the standard products. These metrics can be used to provide root-cause analysis, track success rates in the use of the solution, and help justify the ongoing investment in the LANDesk products through the usage audit trails and Return on Investment reports.

Integration Launcher

[edit]

The first Verismic solution released integrated the LANDesk suite of management products with various helpdesk and service management products. The aim of the solution being to streamline access to support tools from within the first/second level support console without the requirement to open and maintain access to the larger and more complex systems management console.
