The Understanding is the second album from Norwegian duo Röyksopp. The deluxe edition, apart from including a bonus CD, is sold in a Digipak. Similary on Melody A.M. the Songs of The Understanding haves been used in television adverts and computer games. “Circuit Breaker” and “Only This Moment” were used in an episode in the Danmarks Radio's consumer programme, named Rabatten. "Follow My Ruin" was also included on the soundtrack of FIFA 06, the 2005 edition of EA Sports' long-running soccer video-game franchise. What Else Is There? was used in an O2 television advertisement in the Czech Republic[1] and in Slovakia[2] during 2008. It was also used in the 2006 film Cashback and the 2007 film, Meet Bill. A remixed version of "What Else is There" was featured in an episode of the popular HBO TV show Entourage.
This album has been released with the Copy Control protection system in some regions.
The single Curves was released along side the bands second album The Understanding via the internet.
