What's Wrong With Virginia is an upcoming 2010 by director Dustin Lance Black, starring Emma Roberts, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Carrie Preston and Toby Jones.
Plot
The movie takes place in a small town, were Virginia (Jennifer Connelly), a mentally unastable woman has a two decade affair with a local married, Sheriff Dick Tipton (Ed Harris). Virginia's son Emmet (Toby Jones), acts as a protector, who helps her and gives her emotional support on her exentricity.[1] The movie bounces in the suspicion of Emmet thinking that Tipton is his real father, and during the quest for the truth the start of a relationship between Betty (Carrie Preston), whose father is sheriff Tipton, and Emmet himself. During the movie also there is a role changing between Virginia and Emmet in the parental behaviour. [2]
Production
The Movie was shot in Holland, Michigan during summer of 2010 in seven weeks on local streets, homes and businesses. The project was filmed in Michigan thanks to a state program to incentive entertainment industry. [3] The movie was premiered on September 15, 2010 in the Toronto International Film Festival,[4] the release date is yet to be determined.
