Final discussion for Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people
Hello, I note that you have commented on the first phase of Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people
As this RFC closes, there are two proposals being considered:
- Proposal to Close This RfC
- Alternate proposal to close this RFC: we don't need a whole new layer of bureaucracy
Your opinion on this is welcome. Okip 03:22, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Could you throw your eye to this article again, editors are edit warring to insert the score from last night's game into the lead and also the body of the article, thanks. Mo ainm (talk) 13:54, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Naming
Hello. I noticed you've edited the template, and I would like to propose renaming of {{Czechoslovakian elections}} and linked articles to "Czechoslovak elections". The proper adjective is "Czechoslovak", in line with adjectives "Czech" and "Slovak", not "Czechoslovakian", although this form is also used in English. Regards. - Darwinek (talk) 14:04, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
- The fact, that you did not hear it is not a valid argument. :) The form "Czechoslovak" is just the correct one, the same way as "Slovak", not "Slovakian". Moreover it is used widely throughout the WP and the real world. See, e.g. the Czech Republic official promotion website or the Slovak Republic official promotion website. - Darwinek (talk) 20:09, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

I just thought you'd find it interesting that because of your contributions to Talk:2010 Major League Soccer season, you've been implicated in not-so-thinly-veiled accusations of being my sockpuppet. I apologize for the inconvenience and I thought I would bring it to your attention. -- Grant.Alpaugh 17:27, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
RFC on 2010 MLS
Per your comments on the RFC at Talk:2010 Major League Soccer season, I renamed the thread there, and I restarted the RFC thread with nothing but the title, the RFC tag, and my initial description. Grsz11 disagreed with my change in format and reverted it. I don't want to get into an edit war, so since you were the one who brought it up, will you just "blank" the thread as you were talking about so there's no ambiguity. Thanks. -- Grant.Alpaugh 17:32, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Arab localities
Hi, some time ago you started several stubs on Arab localities in Israel, like Ed Dahi, Sulam. It looks in fact as if the villages are much older than indicated. Could you please tell us which source you used? Thanks, Huldra (talk) 12:21, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you very much. I can say, though, that at least for Sulam the info on Hebrew wp is then wrong; the village has a documented history going back way beyond the 18th century. Cheers, Huldra (talk) 13:03, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Didn't give my opinion. I gave facts so the editor would understand a little bit more about the idea (Israeli politics). I think that's what may be your problem--you continually confuse facts with opinion, and opinion with facts. --Shamir1 (talk) 09:38, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Edit war
Hello. You appear to be involved in an edit war on Kadima. While the three-revert rule is hard and fast, please be aware that you can be blocked for edit warring without making 3 reverts to an article in 24 hours. You are not entitled to 3 reverts and are expected to cooperatively engage other editors on talk pages rather than reverting their edits. Note that posting your thoughts on the talk page alone is not a license to continue reverting. You must reach consensus. Continued edit warring may cause you to be blocked. Shamir1
Thank you for this post to my talk page. I was already aware that there were issues with Shamir1's behaviour, and there is no way that I would have taken any further steps in this issue without thoroughly checking his/her record. In fact that was part of why I took the "wait until I have more time" line rather than stepping in immediately: I needed time for that check. Shamir1 made accusations against you. I have no idea whether there was any justification in any of those accusations, and I have no interest in finding out: I am willing to assume good faith on your part. However, Shamir1 is now indefinitely blocked, and I have no intention of pursuing the issue any further, unless someone else asks me to. JamesBWatson (talk) 08:51, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Lawrie Wilson
Hi, at 16:46, 1 December 2008 you deleted a page about Lawrie Wilson – citing that there was "no indication that the article may meet guidelines for inclusion". Wholeheartedly agree with the decision to delete the article given that although Wilson had played for a Football League club before in the form of Colchester United, he had never played first–team football – and subsequently does not meet the guidelines for inclusion. However, he is currently playing for Stevenage, who are newly-promoted and Football League bound, will it be fine for me to go ahead and create the article on him now? Thanks. SBFCEdit (talk) 14:37, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for clearing that up. I'll hopefully be in touch in August then! SBFCEdit (talk) 14:54, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Hi again, Wilson made his first Football League appearance yesterday in Stevenage's 2–2 draw against Macclesfield Town. Any chance you could restore the article? Will you also be so kind as to restore Michael Bostwick's article? Thank you. SBFCEdit (talk) 19:40, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Just to let you know that I am creating an article that you deleted in 2008. Why was this page deleted? I worked pretty hard at gathering sources and putting this up. If you google his name anywhere, it will come up that he has played for Real Salt Lake. There are match reports that say he dressed for a game against Houston Dynamo. There are also many reports that state he was a regular contributor to the Reserve squad, as well as an MLS Bio....Please put this page back up...Professional athletes deserve the notariety —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.15.151.197 (talk) 06:34, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not saying that it definitely shouldn't be deleted, but it does not strike me as a clear-cut case (hence my opposition to prodding). Maccabi Tel Aviv
Are you serious???? it is not cleaning you just deleated 3/4 of the article why?? Maccabit (talk) 08:46, 27 August 2010 (UTC) With all due respect the on your opinion it is more important that maccabi lost 4-0 to Hapoel Acre at the cup 5 years ago and not the fact she changed owners twise and the middle of huge rebuilding and by the way maybe you should look some of the European eams articles the resemble tho the old look and not your modification. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Maccabit (talk • contribs) 09:20, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
So on your opinion Maccabi has no history after the 4-0 loss 5 years ago ??? You can't just delete info because you don't like how it looks edit it , refrase it as you want but don't delete it completely as it never happened.Maccabit (talk) 09:40, 27 August 2010 (UTC) And the fact Maccabi changed owners twice is not worth to mention ???? You are making no sense. This article is supposed to tell Maccabi's history the only thing you seems want to mention is that the club lost 10-0 to haifa and 4-0 to Acre as sort of a milestone but the real thing like the club changing owners is not worth to mentionMaccabit (talk) 11:02, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Merging of non league stadiums
I notice you are beginning a task of merging certain stadium articles in with main articles. You are doing this stating your belief that stadium which have never hosted national-level football or rugby should not be included. Is this agreed criteria WP:FOOTBALL or is it your POV? if it's your POV which it seems it is, aren't you guilty of breaking the first rule you set out in wikiproblems section on your userpage? If it isn't WP:FOOTBALL criteria, then how do you decide what has and hasn't 'hosted national-level football'? Isn't the FA Cup a national competition? I could argue most of the grounds you have merged have hosted FA Cup matches which means they have hosted national level football? example being Croft Park which you have delinked from the Template:Conference North Venues ready to merge into a main article for Blyth Spartans F.C.. Only 2 season ago this ground hosted Shrewsbury Town F.C. and Blackburn Rovers F.C., the later shown live on TV. My belief is that your criteria for taking on this task is flawed and your POV is not part of WP:FOOTBALL criteria. DJhinckley (talk) 17:17, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Hatikva (political party)
Thats just it, that was the only reason. Not disputing whether it is or not, but certain times like this go against the grain of consensus/common knowledge, and this need a clarification.
For example, just today i saw an article that said "liberal-conervative," which as you know is oxymoronic. but i wikilinked it to something that does clarify it. Doesnt seem to be a link to that, so i tagged it. But if you could either explain int he article or under a <ref> tag, then that would be fine.(Lihaas (talk) 10:23, 16 October 2010 (UTC)).
- Granted perhaps, but thats a large chunk of readers. Its not the view of the editors alone. Even readers would, again European politics apparently doesnt represent a {{globalise}} view.(Lihaas (talk) 11:30, 16 October 2010 (UTC)).
- Also could you clarify "secular right-winged" at elast in the ref tag?Lihaas (talk) 10:52, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

- So if im understanding right you need at least 2 parties for it to work? (as in this case) because i dont know why this doesnt work.
- Per npov, it doesnt really become so, you just list the biggest winners (which is dependent purely on factual voting and not editoral opinion). We planned to do this in Sweden to lsit just the main ones, but then someone corrected the imagfes so we didnt need to.Lihaas (talk) 14:46, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- not "big," "biggest." as in based directly on the numbers the X # of parties. For one parties that didnt get a seat dont get mention, and for coalition based countries (particularly india and israel, though not Lebanon becasue liek Sweden the alliance would be mentioned) say 2,3,6 seem decent but that could be challenged and consensus gained on respective articles. Infoboxes do offer quick insights into results. (ie- aid navigation)Lihaas (talk) 15:02, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
