Exact Birthdate

I've seen Severn's birth year on internet bio's ranging from 1952 to 1959. I've seen five years represented (1952, 1954, 1956, 1958, and 1959). The correct year needs to be properly located. DL 500 06:55, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just got back from a camp with Dan, he's 48 years old. I didn't have the audacity to ask his age though, as humble of guy as he is, I just felt it was disrespectful. He sort of just told us his age. I guess that means he was born in '58? -- Dan N.

Yes he was born in '58. http://www.myspace.com/danthebeastsevern. He reiterates this in several interviews.; http://www.ironlife.com/mag/issue22/dansevern.shtml. The date is harder to come by given as the 9th and the 8th. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.253.157.227 (talk) 12:22, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick point. In the text of the article it says Severn held Gracie down for 17 min., but the whole bout only lasted about 15 min. I just thought I would bring this up so someone can fix it. - Duane

injury

i heard that in a match in october 1998, he faced owen hart who managed to break his neck with an inverted piledriver, anyone know if thats true?

I believe you have confused Severn with Steve Austin who's neck was legitimately injured by an Owen Hart piledriver. God it disgusts me that I know that... Austinmayor (talk) 23:29, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
A lot of people know that Austinmayor. Mr. C.C. (talk) 18:32, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well then you disgust me too. MisterJayEm (talk) 00:09, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

There has been some vandalism on this article recently, access should be restricted to members only. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AnimatedMusician (talk • yeah there is some vandalism, Dan Severn has losses, and I know for a fact he lost to Shamrock the first time by guilotine choke. you may revise the win loss section. contribs) 23:22, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Championships and accomplishments

In the Championships and accomplishments section it says that Dan is a one time wec super heavyweight champion, but if i go to the list of wec champions he is no where to be found. was he really a champ or is this info wrong. if he was the wec super heavyweight champ, when was he and for how long?? 207.246.181.26 (talk) 02:51, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I too challenge this notion that he was the WEC super heavyweight champion. I can't find any info on such title. Therefore i'm removing it until it can be referenced. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BullyBulldawg (talkcontribs) 15:26, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Most experience fighter in the sport

Oldest mma fighter

I think it fair to say his the oldest mma fighter to fight a fight. At the age of 55 year and 1 month. Give me your toughts on this.GSP-Rush (talk) 05:26, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Price of Glory Ownership

This article says that Severn owns Price of Glory professional wrestling and that he doesn't own it. Does anyone know the actual ownership status of Price of Glory? MisterJayEm (talk) 00:12, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Correct Record

his article's MMA Record record needs to be evaluated. There are some people listed as being MMA opponents that are strictly professional wrestlers.24.63.105.208 (talk) 03:32, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction

I think that in the introduction where it says he is one of only a few proffesional fighters to have more than 100 pro fights it should be he is one of only a few mixed martial artists as in thai boxing for example i would say it was uncommon for fighters to finish there careers with less than 100 fights and there are large numbers of boxers with more than 100 fights. I know its a petty change but i think that it is neccesary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cjr1993 (talkcontribs) 15:10, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Major rewording and removals

I just removed a bunch of text from the article that was highly complimentary, and thus not meeting Wikipedia's requirements that all articles have a neutral point of view. I'm sure the article could use another few scrubbings--remember, we want an encyclopedia article, not a fan site talking about how great Severn is. In addition, this article needs many more sources--many of the claims in here need to be sourced, and should probably be removed eventually if sources can't be found. I know nothing about wrestling, so i don't know where to start looking for reliable sources, but I do know that we need to source this better to meet the requirements of Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living persons.
