Isabel Allende Karam, is a Cuban diplomat, ambassador and former translator. She now works as the rector of the ISRI, Instituto Superior de Relaciones Internacionales of Cuba[1].

She studied in Czechoslovakia at the Charles University in Prague[2], worked for the Cuban Cultural center in Prague and Cuban embassy in Czechoslovakia.

Translator of Fidel Castro during his trip to Prague, desk officer for Czechoslovakia (1969-70) at the Cuban foreign ministry MINREX, then its Central European socialist countries department director, deputy foreign minister (1996) and ambassador of Cuba to Poland (1988–1991)[3], Spain (1999–2000)[4] and Russia (19??). Her husband is a Cuban writer.

She speaks Spanish, Czech and probably English and Russian.
