Next Generation Indie Book Awards

The Next Generation Indie Book Awards is an awards program that recognizes and honors authors and publishers of exceptional independently published books in 60 different categories [1]. The not-for-profit [2] awards program was started in 2007 by Catherine Goulet and is present by the Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group in cooperation with Marilyn Allen of Allen O’Shea Literary Agency. The panel of judges is comprised of professionals from the book publishing industry including literary agents, editors, publishing executives, book reviewers, writing teachers, and authors [3] [4]

Cash prizes and medals are awarded to winners and finalists ranging from $100 to $1,500 [5], grand prize winners are also awarded a trophy [6], and the top book in each category are reviewed by Literary Agents for possible representation. Each year during BookExpo America The Next Generation Indie Book Awards are announced in a catalog distributed to attendees [7]. Winners and Finalists are honored at a reception during BookExpo held at the Plaza Hotel [8] [9]
