No mention of the main economy, ganja? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.41.51.22 (talk) 22:41, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment

This looks like a very nice article for a small unincorporated community. One thing that needs to be changed is the excessive number of external links within the article itself. Some of them should be turned into references. Some of the others should probably be eliminated completely as not fitting within the Wikipedia's external links policy. I don't believe "Petrol" was a local Native American indian word. But Mattole is. The Petro-currency and the word "Petrolia" come from the oil that was originally found there.

History

To say that "the town was originally named Petrolia" suggests that its name has since changed. Reword this sentence or at least remove the comma following "Petrolia." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.46.200.230 (talk) 00:58, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Earthquakes

According to the US Geological Survey, it seems there is always seismic activity off the coast near Petrolia. Do any of these earthquakes cause damage/injury in the area? I came to this article for this specific inquiry and found nothing. Does anyone know? Link>>http://quake.usgs.gov/recenteqs/ Thanks! 76.246.235.134 (talk) 19:58, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Scientology

Why is there no mention of the Church of Scientology's reported base in Petrolia? The aerial symbols are clearly there (visible in Google Earth just west of the city and the "Church of Spiritual Technology Petrolia Vault") and there's a mention of it's existence on the Trementina Base page. Shouldn't this be included here? Even if just a small aside?76.125.193.174 (talk) 04:13, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
