The Fold is a high energy rock-pop band from Chicago, Illinois. They have released two full length albums and one EP on Tooth & Nail Records, and an independent album in 2009. Their single "Gravity" from the album This Too Shall Pass reached #1 on the CHR Rock charts.
History
Their debut album This Too Shall Pass was released February 22, 2006, its follow-up Secrets Keep You Sick was released May 22, 2007. Secrets Keep You Sick has been nominated for a Grammy under the "Best Recording Package" category, but the band lost to Cassadaga by Bright Eyes[1]. Directly following the release of Secrets, the band spent their summer on the Vans Warped Tour. The Fold hooked up with friends Plain White T's and The Spill Canvas on their own dollar to support their 2008 sold-out UK tour.
Upon returning to the U.S., The Fold severed ties with Tooth & Nail Records, where they sold over 35,000 units. The band headed directly into Tree Sound Studios in Atlanta, Georgia with Zack and Kenneth (Cartel, All Time Low, Mayday Parade). The team had been a major believer in the band since late 2006, when they recorded Secrets Keep You Sick, so much so that they jumped at the opportunity of making this record. All parties worked for little to nothing, with the bright future of the band in mind, and in fall 2008 The Fold completed their third studio album Dear Future, Come Get Me. The Fold is currently a free agent, with complete ownership of their latest full length recording. In December 2009 the band released a self shot music video for Every Band In The USA a parody of the Miley Cyrus hit Party in the USA. The video has been viewed on YouTube over 300,000 times[2]. On June 29, 2010 the band released a video for the song Neverender off their independent album, Dear Future, Come Get Me.
