Season synopsis
When Mac finds out that Carmen, the transvestite he once dated is getting married, he is outraged. He fights her attempts to get married, claiming it to be a gay marriage, although it is mainly because now she has had her penis removed he feels he is owed something. Dennis and Dee meanwhile reunite with old friends Maureen and Bill Ponderosa. Dennis marries Maureen on a whim but soon realizes this is a mistake and quickly divorces Maureen, but gets stuck with alimony. Frank and Charlie attempt to seek the benefits of married life also, but discover it to be unsuited to their lifestyle.
The Gang use their money from the merchandise sold in the bar to buy a boat, which they soon destroy. When a heatwave hits Philadelphia, Mac and Charlie attempt to restore an abandoned pool, Frank enjoys the public swimming pool, and Dennis and Dee repeatedly attempt to gain entry to an upper-class pool.
Dee has fallen pregnant, and suggests that one of the Gang is the father, after a wild Halloween party. The Gang struggle to remember the party due to their excessive drinking. Dee eventually reveals that none of them are the father to her child.
Dee takes up a job as a substitute teacher. Mac and Dennis replace Charlie with a new member for the gang, so Charlie begins janitorial work at Dee's school, having chosen her to be his unwilling new best friend. Mac, Dennis and Frank soon realize they need Charlie in the Gang, but he remains committed to his new job. Dee takes her students to the bar to screen Othello, but Dennis, Mac and Frank take the opportunity to screen their film, Lethal Weapon 5 (including Mac in blackface and a gratuitous sex scene involving Frank). Both Dee and Charlie lose their jobs over the screening.
The Gang become stranded in the woods on their way to a charity event in Atlantic City. This also marks the first time Charlie has left Philadelphia. Dennis and Charlie hitch a ride into town with a trucker, whilst Dee, Mac and Frank remain in the woods. Dennis and Charlie attend the charity event, Frank had arranged for Mac to meet his longtime hero Chase Utley. Dennis and Charlie pose as Mac and Frank respectively, and together they enjoy the event.
Dee goes into labor, and the rest of the Gang attempts to find the father so they are not responsible for the child. Suspects include soldier Ben, Rickety Cricket, Bill Ponderosa, Lil' Kev and the Korean busboy. Dee reveals after the birth that the sperm used actually belonged to Carmen, and that she was only a surrogate.
