Murat Yaçıntaş is a business man and civic leader in Istanbul, Turkey.
Early life
Yaçıntaş was born in Istanbul in 1965. He is the son of former AKparty deputy Nevzat Yalçıntaş. He graduated from Saint Joseph French College. After completing a programme at the Bosphorus University Machinery Faculty, he studied at Boston University in the field of International Management and gained a Masters degree. Later he worked as an expert researcher in the EU in Brussels.
Career
After working for an international development bank for three years as a project manager, he returned to Turkey and started as an entrepreneur. He is shareholder in a variety of companies in the air conditioning, telecom, and molding sectors. Yalçıntaş was elected as a member of the board for the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce in 1995 and served on various committees during the 1990s. In 2005 he became the chairman of the board for the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. He is presently serving on seven committees.
Yalçıntaş is also the president of the Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) since 2007.[1]
A new Istanbul Technopark project that is being carried out with the Defence Industry Undersecretariat will be a major investment of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to the efforts of Yalçıntaş, the protocol for this project was signed in 2010 and the project is expected to be finished in 2012. [2]
Personal life
He can speak English, Turkish, and French fluently and knows German and Arabic at intermediate level. He is married and has three children.[3]
