Would you take a look at this?

Since you refereed the Afd, I thought I would look to you for advice. I have also left a message on Crotalus's talk page.

Before the page was deleted, Smatprt (talk · contribs) copied the page and saved in on his talk page. He then, under the guise of creating another draft of the Shakespeare authorship question (as per the directive stemming from this decision, into the draft pasted part of the Oxfordian article that contained similar information.

He then created a new article in the mainspace, Oxfordian Theory - Parallels with Shakespeare's Plays, with the edit summary of "forking play portion from draft3, adding in mainstream dismissal to opening para and several lead graphs to maintain NPOV". However, a comparison with his archived copy of the deleted article shows that it was not forked from the talk page draft, but pasted almost verbatim from his archived version.

His action comes at a particularly inopportune time, since we are supposedly engaged in mediation about the SAQ. I posted a protest on his talk page, giving my reasons and asking him to comply with the AfD result, which he deleted as a "personal attack".

Can you advise me on what I should do, if anything? I had hoped the mediation would solve our differences, but it has yet to come about and I now wonder if it will. I realise this is a tedious subject for most people, but any advice you can offer I would appreciate. Tom Reedy (talk) 05:24, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting question. I think, though, that I should defer any involvement. It appears that Seddon has just accepted the mediation request. If it is going to have any reasonable chance of success, the participants will need to engage each other without outside interference from the likes of me. Good luck. Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. When you leave a message that must be answered, you need to say so explicitly. The problem with being so polite is that if you are ignored, you haven't created a basis for taking any further action. A message such as, "You need to respond to this issue, or unfortunately it will be necessary to place a block on your account in spite of your valuable contributions", is the sort of thing that is appropriate. The above of course assumes that it is my intent to block BravesFan; I already have stated that such is not my intent. Rather, my intent is to engage him/her in discussion. I understand that a number of people have lost patience with the editor. If we reach a point where a block is imminent, I'll clearly tell the editor so. Now, if there are other admins who are of a mind to block, that is their perogative, and I won't take offense. But I have not satisfied myself that a block is necessary. This time, he's added that "The Boys Of Fall" is the new #1 on the country charts — the Chart Highlights from Billboard.com aren't even out yet, and he's confirmed that he pulls the #1 info from what ever shows as #1 on the "Real Time Tracker" on Sunday night. tl;dr: The instant he gets unblocked, his first edits are to add the same unsourced information he's been warned a zillion times not to add. Conflict in Article of Andre Geim, winner of 2010 Nobel Prize

Hi, I am a foreigner and a simple reader of Wikipedia. Thank you very much for your job. Frankly say, Editing article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andre_Geim, is in a wrong way, by colluding of some editors and admins there. Their IDs are: Therexbanner, Gladsmile, Narking, Christopher Connor, RobertMfromLI, NickCT, Beetstra, 7. These Users are trying by reverting correct edits of the article, and doing a sort of anagram and "misusing" information in sources, show Mr. Andre Geim (winner of 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics) is not a Jewish and he has another ethnic. They seem like pure (but a bit hidden)vandalism. All correct RS sources, like:

clearly show that Mr. Andre Geim is a Jewish (he repeatedly mentioned about his Jewishness, [subject of self-identification]) in ethnical point of view and his family was originated from Germany(he also several times mentioned that his family are German [origin]). Nowadays German is a general word, which could means: Citizenship, Nationality, Origin, residentship, and so on. When Geim is taking about German being of his family, clearly and logically he talks about their origin before emigration to Russia. There is the same situation about Richard Feynman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Feynman. By the way in a reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Andre_Geim_interview_to_Yedioth_Ahronoth,_Oct_15_2010,_p._25.jpg, (that several times misused by above Users) Geim also said a story concerning Jewishness (clearly in religious point of view) of his grandmother, that of course it doesn’t mean that only his grandmother was a Jewish. Now in article as I checked the history of the article, above Users by reverting the correct edits there, try to present and show by their wrong way Mr. Geim an “ethnic” German person. The point is that in any RS sources, Geim hasn’t say that he has such ethnic, and he never used word “ethnic” there. Andre Geim won the Nobel Prize in the beginning of October; unfortunately, right after his winning until now, above Users kept the text of the article in a wrong position. In any case, if you have time, please check this Users carefully. By the way USER:Gladsmile, repeatedly reverted and undid the edits there, without any explanation(even wrong one). My Page - Francis Gary Powers, Jr. deleted

PS. The reason I found out about this deletion of my wekipedi page is becuase someone emailed me a Facebook page "http://www.facebook.com/pages/Francis-Gary-Powers-Jr/137488986273376" that cited Wikipedia as the source of the information. Since the facebook page is still active with the source link, this begs the question as to why the Wiki page was deleted. In addition, it shows another example as to the amount of exposure / notoriety that i have gained over the years. Fianlly, the Wiki page was up for over 5 years so helped to prove in and of itself my wide exposer since Facebook picked it up.

Hello,

I just found out today that my page, Francis Gary Powers, Jr, was deleted in December 2010. While I understand the reasoning behind the ultimate decision to delete the page based on the discussion page, I do not understand why I was not contacted other than though one message via Wikipedia, which I just received after the page was already deleted. I do not check Wikipedia often and an email could have been sent to me via the Cold War Museum or Gary Powers' website to notify me of this discussion so I could have replied and provided supporting documentation as to why it should have been kept or changed to meet the criteria.

I would like to know what I can do to have the page reactivated. I will be able to provide tons of international press interviews, articles, TV news interviews and related subject matter that will show I have gained notoriety in my profession as a Cold War expert and Founder of The Cold War Museum in addition to being the son of the U-2 pilot.

I am not very familiar with how the talk Pages work with Wikipedia so it may take me a while to figure out how to see your reply and or send one back.
