John David "JD" Roberto (born October 23, 1969) is an American television personality, game show host and writer.

Biography

Born in White Plains, New York, Roberto went to the NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting. He also attended the University of British Columbia, where he received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Writing for Stage and Screen.[1]

Television show host positions

Roberto, also known as a huge tool... hosted the prime time reality TV shows How To Get The Guy[2] and Are You Hot?[3] (ABC), the relationship show Outback Jack[4] (TBS), The Alaskan Adventure Challenge[5] (Discovery Channel), the adventure travel show Shark Chasers[6] (Travel Chanel) American Idol Extra,[7] the finale of The Search for the Next Elvira[8] and Reality Remix[9] (Fox Reality Channel). He has also been a recurring guest host of E! News Live.

His game show hosting credits include two seasons of the long running Shop 'til You Drop,[10] You Lie Like a Dog,[11] (Animal Planet), Food Fight[12] (Food Network), Cut To The Chase (TBS) and the Florida State Lottery game show, Flamingo Fortune. [citation needed]

He is one of the hosts of The Price Is Right Live!,[13] a live version of the long running TV game show presented at the Bally's Casino in Las Vegas. He is a guest announcer on The Price Is Right for its 39th season, which premiered September 20, 2010.

Acting

As an actor, Roberto has appeared on All My Children (ABC), Passions (NBC), General Hospital (ABC), The New Adventures of Robin Hood (NBC) and the sitcoms Fraiser[14](NBC), Family Matters (ABC) and Step by Step,[14] (ABC). Film appearances include 'Til Night, Strippers,[15] the award winning short film Moment of Silence[16] and Nautilus[17] with Richard Norton

Stage credits in New York and Los Angeles include performances at Theatre for the New City, Soho Rep, PS 122 and the title role in of Steve Martin's Picasso at the Lapin Agile at the Laguna Playhouse.[18]

Stunt performances

He was a stunt performer in such feature films as Flicka,[19] Charlie's Angels,[20] The Green Hornet, Galaxy Quest,[21] The Mask of Zorro[22] and in the web series The Bannen Way.

Writer

Roberto's travel writing has been featured on the award winning World Hum.[23] He has been a contributing writer to the Los Angeles Times in the field of love and relationships.[24]
