Ana Rita Contreras Sosa (also known as Dominicana Prestigiosa) was born and grew in Bayaguana, Monte Plata, Dominican Republic. She represented Monte Plata in Miss Dominican Republic 2009 and placed 1st runner-up after representing the province of Barahona in Miss Dominican Republic 2006, in which she placed 13th in the preliminaries but failed to make the top ten, but did win a special award for communication. She was crowned the new official Miss Mundo Dominicana 2009.
Contreras is a graduate with summa cum laude honors in Architecture from the Universidad Iberoamericana de Santo Domingo and a graduate of the modeling academy "The Femme Elegant". She studied for her masters at Columbia University of New York City.
She competed in Miss World 2009 but did not place.
