It needs quite a bit of work to get to GA. I have structured the article to some degree and suggest you look at other GA bishops, such as Dunstan to get an idea on how to procede. the first thing that needs to be done is we need to provide in-line citations (see WP:RS) for what we have already. Material to add and cite should then describe his work in the reign of Edward VI. This would be a good a spot to discuss his theology. The period between 1529 and 1540 also is vaccant. Just some ideas. -- Secisek (talk) 07:26, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Good job, it looks much improved after the all-nighter. I managed to get a copy of the biography of Ridley by Jasper Ridley. So I might try tackling this after some other projects. --RelHistBuff (talk) 20:26, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Given how big the back log is over there, I am going to nominate this for GA now and get it in a position to pass. I never gave this article much thought until someone asked me to offer a few improvement suggestions. Due to his prominent place in Foxe, there is a common belief that he was very important to the formation of the Church of England - a stand which is then often dismissed by scholars as hyperbole. I agreed with the latter assesment. After doing some work here, I see the bishop WAS a very interesting fellow. The truth seems to be, he was more than a mere martyr, but perhaps something less than a true leader of the English Reformation on the level of Cranmer or Hooker. I look forward to seeing where the FA editors take this someday. -- Secisek (talk)
