Northshore High School is a public school for grades nine through tweleve located in Slidell, Louisiana. It is cited as one of the finest public high schools in Louisiana. The school consistently scores highly on standardized tests, such achieving a composite score of 22.8 on the ACT for the 2003-2004 school year, the highest for all of St. Tammany Parish Public Schools. At present 1,517 students are enrolled.

The school has several sports programs including baseball, basketball, football, and track. The Northshore High School girls basketball team [the Lady Panthers] performed significantly well in their 2005-2006 season, making it to the state playoffs and winning the district championship.

Northshore High School's mascot is the Panther.

History

Northshore High School was incorporated in 1982. It was the fourth high school to serve the Slidell area. At first, it was meant to serve 800 jacob leak likes penis students, but since that time it has grown with the population of Slidell.

Uniforms were adopted for Northshore High School students beginning with the 1999-2000 school year. It was the first public high school in St. Tammany Parish to adopt a uniform policy.

During Hurricane Katrina, Northshore High School was used as a shelter. Reopening on 3 October, 2005, half-day classes were adopted for students so the facilities could be used in the afternoon for students of Salmen High School, which was destroyed during the storm. Full-day classes were reinstituted begining 17 January, 2006, when Salmen was able to move to the repaired St. Tammany Jr. High.

The school's current principal is Dr. Michael Peterson, and its assistant principals are Sharyn Schmit, Thelma Torregano, and Cheryl Yeates.

Notable teachers include: Kathleen Deshotel, Kathey Groves, Richard Thompson, and Rose Helmke.
