Albert Kai-Wing Ng, O.Ont (born unknown) is a prominent graphic designer who lives and works in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

In December 2007, Albert Kai-Wing Ng. O. Ont. was honoured with the Order of Ontario. [1]


CITATION

Albert Kai-Wing Ng has had an illustrious career in graphic design. One of Canada’s best-known designers, he led a tenyear campaign for the professional accreditation of graphic designers in Ontario. The resulting legislation caused him to become known as the “father of graphic design accreditation.” Ng founded the Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario. He helped develop clearly defined standards of professional practice, quality post-secondary education programs, and a greater understanding of the important role of graphic design in business and economic success. His accreditation model was a first in North America, second world-wide, and his contributions to design have helped Ontario’s graphic designers be globally competitive.


Albert Kai-Wing Ng a fait une remarquable carrière dans le graphisme. L’un des concepteurs graphiques les plus connus du Canada, il a mené campagne pendant dix ans pour obtenir la reconnaissance professionnelle des concepteurs graphiques en Ontario. À la suite de la loi qui en a découlé, on le surnomma le « père de la reconnaissance professionnelle des graphistes ». Fondateur de l’Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario, Ng a participé à l’élaboration de normes précises d’exercice de la profession et de programmes d’enseignement postsecondaire de qualité. Il a aussi contribué à mieux faire comprendre le rôle important que joue le graphismedans la réussite en affaires et la prospérité économique. Son modèle de reconnaissance professionnelle a été le premier en Amérique du Nord, le deuxième dans le monde. En outre, sa contribution dans le domaine du graphisme a aidé les graphistes de l’Ontario à se mesurer sur la scène internationale.
