Zooid

A zooid is a single animal that is part of a colonial called living. The zooids can either be directly connected by tissue (e.g. corals, Catenulida, Siphonophorae or Ectoprocta) or share a common exoskeleton (e.g. Bryozoa or Pterobranchia).
